The BMW 218i Active Tourer is a underated car to me. Looks good, spacious, and now with the special deal from Quill Automobiles, it's damn worth while in my opinion. Many who buys into the mid sized SUV segment of RM150-170k where power boot is still a rarity, and to have a BMW that offers the same interior room, the premium quality interiors, iDrive, powered boot, keyless entry and push start etc, all this along with 5 year free service and warranty, where else can you get such a deal? It's a steal to me.

Hi Bobby. Thanks for the review! I tested this earlier this year. I agree it's a steal given the luxurious cabin, especially when compared with the X1 which has more plasticky bits. However, I was a bit sceptical about the ride comfort as it was abit bumpy. Plus the fact that not many knew about it, and I think it would be difficult to sell later on. May I know what is your opinion on this?

Well for me, all I look at is for around RM160k promo price for a car that's still officially priced at RM219k, and to get 5 years of free service maintenance as well as warranty, this car is a bargain. It's the same price range as those Citroens or Peugeots or Golf, Tiguan etc when you come to think about it. BMW's network of service center and their service levels are different. Like I said in my video, i think it's a bargain.

Great review Bobby I loved it, but then I saw your reviewed of new tiguan and I love that too. The question is both having same price range, what will be the most value for money buy. Heart goes to tiguan but head (and some VW critics) said BMW. I will truly appreciate your reply. Thx. Keep up the good works

It's actually a decent luxury family car. But do not expect it to be the ultimate driving machine. I noticed no battery in the boot, and it has Michelin RFTs. Can you share the model name of the RFTs?

Just bought one, too bad the wheels are so small. it ruins a little bit the general design of the car and makes it too "family car" when it is pretty nervous and can be used like a nice small sport car to have fun.

I think it's a good deal. My F30 320i doesn't even have rear parking camera or navigation, no reclining seats etc.

Nope it doesn't; but that's the point of this car, it's very easy to park.

Kok Siong Lee yeah it depends on an individual for me i really2 like my 5 series with runflat as it is safer than normal tyre in case the tyre burst during high speed and bmw already setup the suspension to coup with the hard sidewall RFT which is actually not much different with normal tyre and it benefits it term of handling and performance because less flexibility of the tyre.. anyway different people has their on preference 👍🏻

Bobby, this or Tiguan Highline? this car doesn't make so much sense to me: not a hatchback, not a SUV, not a MPV since just 5 seats. all stock at one dealer... sounds like it will eventually be discontinued.

This is the first generation and it is selling very well in Europe. European MPVs are mostly 5 seaters. The 220i gran tourer is a 7 seater version of this with the 2.0 Turbo engine.

Jetdin Ilmi Mercedes B200 has more powerful engine,, 1.6 turbo 156hp and 250 nm with 0-100km/h around 7.9 seconds based on B class facelift international brochure...While 218i focused more towards fuel consumption only (218i 5.1-5.3 litres/100km vs B200 5.5-5.7 litres/100km) has 136hp and 220nm with 0-100km/h of 9.2 seconds...the b200 wheelbase and boot space is also bigger,, 2699mm vs 2670mm and 486 litres vs 468 litres..Not to mention, bmw 218i only uses 6 speed auto while B200 is 7 speed wet dual-clutch transmission..

218i, WC 8835H, purchase from Quill, air conditioning spoil during warranty period, they don't fixing the problem, very disappointed with BMW

What year is the car? What was the reason they gave and what do you mean they don't want to fix it?

@@BobbyAngmalaysia reason they give is no more warranty, the warranty just expired less than a week, I check the service bill, no mention about air con fixing, i already tell air conditioner got problem in the warranty period

This car is 5 years, Because is after warranty , I send to workshop check, baru tau Quill didn't fix the problem, at first I thought the workshop talk big big want change the compressor, then i go another workshop shop , after diagnose, ya, is the compressor rosak, because compressor clutch is not properly work, so, some time got cool air,
