It seems that the cockpit was sized for playability and possibly for close up photography with figurines in place, at the expense of overall proportional balance. I have a nephew about to turn 7 that is into Star Wars and after giving him the few that I had (I asked for nearly 100% Lego stuff as a kid) the last few years, I've discovered the quality of the Vintage Collection figures and vehicles are leaps and bounds better than the old 3.75" Kenner stuff (the goofy retracting-lightsaber-arms underwhelmed me even when I was 5 years old). But, my best friend back in 1979 had the Millennium Falcon, and we spent a lot of time playing with that - big enough to have the figures do stuff inside it, but small enough for a kid to "fly" around the house, and the MF was just soooo iconic in the movies, it's a must-have toy for any kid with a Star Wars collection. So, there was the original $30 toy in 1979, which apparently was in production for 5 years, and I've heard there was a 90's re-release, and then the $150 2008 version, and a $250 2012 re-release of that, and now the tweaked $400 2020 update of the 2008 model. I see reviews complaining about the price hikes, but when I look at eBay, unopened 2020 ones are selling for $600-700, and older used and new ones are very pricey as well. I would like to buy him a "Big Millennium Falcon" for Christmas, but there's nothing even on shelves. And if they were to rerelease it for 2024, given the post-COVID inflation, I'd think they'd want at least $500 MSRP. I see there's an unopened 2020 in its shipping packaging for $600 on eBay that I'm tempted to just go ahead and get him for Christmas, but I'm wondering what people's thoughts are?

The 2020 falcon is probably the best falcon made up to this point. I don’t think you can go wrong with it. Nothing like that will ever come back to retail. And I doubt they’re going to do a Haslab unless they make a new movie featuring the falcon. Which I doubt. Thanks for your comments and checking out my video.

Reasons why I won't be buying the new BMF: 1. $400.00 is frakn ridiculous. 2. The weathering isn't even that good. You should check out some weathering videos on KZbin and you will see some awesome weathering. 3. The new BMF is 90% the same as the old BMF. Very good review. Subscribed.

Recently pulled my old 08 falcon out of the attic that I got for Christmas as a kid and you’re video was super helpful in making sure I still had all the pieces! Only thing I’m missing is the decals that I was too impatient to put on as a kid but have a new set ordered on the way. Great video!

I am so glad they re-released this I would have never been able to get the original. I wasn't even aware of the landing ramp lights and my jaw dropped haha. I don't think I have ever watched a review of the original because I knew it was so far out of reach it was just so expensive in previous years until this was announced. Great review and comparison video . I have yet to open mine but I am so happy with my purchase especially after seeing the weathering they added. I may add some myself but will likely do that on a model version I have to build.

If you have the 2008 BMF, You can put a wash on it and you're good to go. The original 2008 Falcon has better figures (the new Chewy sculpt sucks and there's no Han...) This reissue is a promo for a Disney ride. Save the $400.00.

Yeah, it’s the same exact mold. That cockpit is a little tight. I wish there was an actual door between the cockpit and the rest of the ship. I don’t like that sticker in the background of the cockpit

The new Galxy's Edge Millenium Falcon almost gave me a heart attack and nearly cuased my demise!! Lemme explain.....You can't turn off the electronics. So a few nights ago, at right around 4 AM while I am sound asleep, I get woken by random laser sounds and Han Solo yelling up a storm!! IT WAS TERRIFYING!! Now I make sure the batteries are out every night!! You almost killed me Falcon, but oh how I still love you to death!!

I prefer the 1 with the battle damage look. because it looks like its been thru hell. the detail, colors, shading, everything!, compared to the clean version. i dont own 1, but if i could own that1, i would nab it in a heart beat. i collect toys like these, and set em up on my display, however i can only fit figures not big playsets like this. lol,nice sets tho. they'll be worth a pretty penny down the road.

Yeah they’re both great, basically the same old. The different paint choices are just a matter of personal preference. I like to the newer one, but there’s not an overwhelming reason why. Yeah I agree. Hondo is an animatronic on the millennium falcon ride in the theme park but I’ve only been to the theme park once and I’ve already forgot about it. The millennium falcon should always come with Han and chewy!

Honestly, I would rather you don't try to justify that you have paid too much for a Falcon with just a few different sounds. The Millennium Falcon is synonymous with Han Solo, Chewaca, Luke and Obi Wan. Nobody else. They try to justify that they have paid too much for brighter blue lights when now you can adapt some LEDs for US $ 5 that you can program by remote control. I did!!. And finally, let them try to justify that they have paid a huge amount for how really fun it is to fill up your ships with a little paint and an airbrush and not as if it were the work of a 5 year old boy with dirty hands. Fortunately, I bought a Legacy for $ 60 at Walmart and I think it seems that it will be the best version for a long time. I'm not saying this because I can't buy a Vintage, but because as a fan it is sad to realize that big companies like Hasbro make fun of those who finally give life to their companies and think that any plastic that they put vintage collection It must cost enormously. We have the power to not allow them to put their finger in our mouths and to accommodate their capitalist desires so that prices are vintage as they were in the past, and all the children of the world can make their dream of having an article of this healthy and wonderful come true. Star Wars world.

It’s meant to go with the three and three-quarter figures. So I guess is that 1/18 scale? However, the falcon still is not big enough if you want a true scale to scale replica for your figures. It is the biggest millennium falcon that Hasbro has made.

Amazing ship, but mine got canceled (not my decision) , Targets mistake. But it’s proven to be a happy accident. This event combined with a “Neca super shredder “, for fans unfamiliar (look it up). I have the legacy (exact same ship). I’m a collector & my collection is big enough. But between these two events (plus) others. I’m tired of chasing toyz, especially exclusives. But if you r new to this “collection game “ then I Hope u pre-ordered. Don’tbuyscalpers stuff. Unless you wait a few years. Sometimes product is re-released (learn patience) or scalpers come down.

I think if they had kept everything the same with this new paint job it would be better however the fact they included Hondo and not Han the chewy looks ugly imo and again I get hondo is a new smuggler character but he can’t replace Han and the fact the screens have him as well I’m gonna go for the classic because of the simple fact they made it Hondo’s falcon instead of Han edit: also I just looked at that price tag holy crap it is a cool thing but at the end of the day it’s still a toy this isn’t some big collector’s thing like a hot toys figure now if there were some die cast in there more detail I mean $500 for a toy that originally cost 100 or was it 200 I can’t remember but 500 is way to expensive for what is a rerelease of an existing toy which even when accounting for inflation isn’t nearly as expensive that is ridiculous with 500 u could buy a very nice high quality collectors item again if there were some die cast tons of figures detail accurate to the movies I could see that price but as it is no I’ll pass I made some dumb financial decisions in my collection but this is ludicrous

@@EvrydayErik it is really good for weathering. But I used to spray paint as a youngster...lol but that , becoming a house painter wants a entered the workforce and used spray machines all the time. So it is something that took all of that + Learning how to use an airbrush to the point I can do now didn’t happen overnight....a ton of practice! You can ruin a nice vehicle very easily! Lucky I never tried until I was sure about my skill level! But now that I do I can do some really cool stuff. Like my AT ST . I bought the black series one that came out a few years ago but I have painted it to look like the new mando version! And I had a net from my 25 year old Steve Irwin action figures my mother bought me back in the day and used that for the net. But it looks great. The only thing is fighting the erg of getting out of control...lol but great video, liked the comparison but I have to say I like the original better! When I think the millennium falcon, I think of Han Solo ! Not Hondo tanaka, nice figure but I got him on card

I paid $79.96 for the old one on clearance so for the price difference the new one isn't worth it, don't see it being that different and I hate Disney's star wars so I will avoid giving them money at every chance

Same here..i got the Legacy on clearance at ToysRus for 80 bucks longgg ago...and never opened it.lol im def getting this new one...what surprises me is the front of the falcon is shorter than the Legacy one.

The wash on the newer one looks like absolute trash. Like someone dumped an ashtray on it and rubbed it on with water. It just looks awful. The wash works for things like the dish but they overdid it a lot.

I think both are right. They have to get four figures in the cockpit. It is too big next to The rest of the ship but you couldn’t get to figures in it otherwise. And they weren’t gonna dare to make the actual main part of the ship bigger.

This would have been a better review if the host actually knew anything about the 2008 version and how it works. It has sooooooo many different sounds and dialogue if you know how to use it. And even sounds that can play over dialog sounds while recreating movie scenes. This wasn’t a review. This was a poorly executed personal justification video for the host to be okay with spending the $ for a rerelease with careless paint swipes all over it, missing pieces & he has to take it back to the store to get another one. But it’s still clearly the best of the two 🤦🏻‍♂️ 👏👏👏👏 Clown Shoes.
