Most of these ideas are wrong. Electric cars are much better than gasoline cars. They have many fewer parts so they are more reliable than gasoline cars.

Fair, but those parts are pricey. Tesla has gotten drive units down to a few grand & recycled batteries will be 1/2 of what they are now.

Petrol contains hydrocarbons, but some traces of metals, oxygen, and nitrogen and it's not a chemical? But a battery is?

So many flaws in your comments. Disappointing that you are obviously closed minded. How many EV cars have you driven? They drive SO much better than gas cars, and they are here and coming fast, like it or not. I'm a HUGE gas car fan, but the well designed EV cars are simply so much more exciting to actually drive. And the best, like Porsche and Hyundai / KIA recharge 85% in 26 minutes. Advances in battery chemistry are literally 24 - 36 months away, and things like 600-700 mile range and even faster charging will be normal. I'll check back with you in 3 years and see how you feel then.

You seem to misunderstand the video completely. It isn't an anti EV piece. It is an anti force people into a solution that only works if you can afford them new with a juicy warranty. 3 Years from now I will feel exactly the same about that. EVs work for some, not for all.

I agree! The hidden maintenance topic they don't tell you when the battery goes bad! And people will drive these EV cars like crazy and true! A barn find tesla just won't be worthy of fixing!

Hopefully by then recycled batteries will cost half of what they do now.

I think that would be wishful thinking. Batteries cost what they due to the constraints of the supply chain. And whatever costs may go down gets increased in labor. They told everyone a decade ago batteries would cost 10 grand to replace. Unfortunately that’s practically double for most EVs with a decent range.
