Did you know that most EV manufacturers, including this Volkswagen ID5, have a 100,000 mile/8 year warrant on their batteries? This is significantly longer than a petrol/diesel warranty.

At what level does the battery degrade every year? How much is the cost of a new battery for an ID4?

Hi so the wear on the battery depends largely on the usage so there is too many contributing factors for us to give you a definitive answer on this. The ID.4 has a four-year/50,000 mile (whichever occurs first) warranty, however if it's out of the warranty then the best way to find this out would be to head to www.swanswaygarages.com/servicing-parts/ Hope this helps!

​@MauriceLeane Hi I recently had a replacement 63KW battery replacement in my ID3 out of warranty, it cost me £29000 which I think is fair.

@@maximuswong3092 £29000, this is why the second hand values are falling, most people can’t accept that kind of liability.
