It is thicker, the black grips are larger and it has a clasp for his belt buckle, all changes made by obi-wan _post_ episode 3. It is Anakin's base hilt with so many changes to it that it was considered Luke's.

KALOS619 Gaming No, not those. Those are collectible props (Force FX) by Hasbro and Master Replicas, not suitable for dueling with. First Force FX Lightsaber was made in 2002 by Master Replicas. Movie props didn't have any electronics, but metal pipe as a blade (ANH used motors in the handles). They started using lighten up versions in the production of TFA, but those were designed for dueling.

I had a friend in college that would bring his (they were a pretty pricey version that you could duel with but also lit up) and we’d have mock battles with another friend in the parking lot. We had to stop after dusk because campus patrol thought it may be “distracting.” But seriously, the end of the first day I handed mine back while bouncing on my toes and said, “Will you bring your sabers back again soon so we can play again!?” I was instantly mortified, but just beamed at him anyway. 😂 I always favored a double bladed one, and now I actually have learned how to use a bo staff, so I wish I could thank him for helping me figure that out. Now that people can take saber classes for fun or exercise, I kinda wanna do it! Nothing like being active AND having a ton of fun. 😅

At least with the "owning a droid" thing, he was correct. R4 was just assigned to the Delta-7 and Eta-3 starfighters he was assigned to during the Clone Wars. Anakin also used to have an R4 assigned to him but it got blown up, then Padme gave R2 to him as a graduation present when he was knighted. I'm a know-it-all nerd who must be fun at parties, I know.

I think it’s because of the current trilogy. Knowing more about Kylo’s father may impact how we see Kylo. Snoke was going on about his father’s heart, etc. I think I, grudgingly, understand more about how growing up with Han Solo for a parent would be after Solo; before I wasn’t sure how that had probably gone so it left a lot of room for what Kylo’s upbringing was like. So I think it’s the impact on the current films. Obi-Wan’s story is over now. So it impacts the trilogy far less. Unless he’s Rey’s grandfather or something and that’s why she heard his voice in The Force Awakens. 🤷🏻‍♀️ At that point, I’d be more pissed about Solo. I still didn’t love putting Obi on the back burner. He’s my favorite character and seeing that time period and his story would have been awesome. I was the perfect age when a series of young young adult books about him becoming Qui-Gon’s apprentice came out and seeing how they’d adapt that (or not) would be interesting as well. The line he walked with the code, the anger and attachment, but his feeling of a higher calling, he’s such a good character that resonates with everyone, is in the OT and prequels, so he has crossover in the fan base, it just makes sense to do his story. So again, my only thought for why they did Solo was the current trilogy. I don’t agree. But it’s all I can come up with. I know they had a reason; it may have been a stupid reason, but they didn’t just do it without thought, because it behooves them to plan, so they can make more money. 🤷🏻‍♀️
