My microphone failed on me for most of this street scrap so I had to cut it short with the clips I had, picked up a few vintage items and was looking to be a great day until it started pouring down with rain.

I love street scrapping. The cool stuff you find is awesome. Ours is a bit different due to it goes out 1 time per week. So ya go out in the evening then again early in the morning......you get 2 small chances to fined the bits you're looking for. I hunt for copper with steel and aluminum (extruded -better- or regular- ok price) and zinc as by products. I think our steel is down to 5cents per pound maybe 4.5. it's been 3 weeks since I turned in steel. Been stock piling but I'll have to make a trip soon. I think I have close to 1500 pounds now. Love your vids, I've learned a bunch from watching you about microwaves. used to take me 30 minutes to scrap one out. Now about 5 minutes. You showed me what to look for, so it makes it faster. Same with computers, but we don't see many of those being thrown out. This year I've found 3.......and 2 scrapped but I found all the pieces in another box, so bully for me?. Anyways keep them coming. Great information, no matter what you're doing.

17:51 Men from the boys, eh? ;) Edit: Your audio has always been fully acceptable with the camera mic. Most of us who 3 hours watch scrapping aren't so concerned about audiophile sound quality. Edit 2: 33:47 Consider using a Variac (variable AC voltage transformer) between the wall outlet and the device power chord when powering up vintage electronics, especially if it's unknown how long the device sat idle. Electrolytic capacitors "dry out" with age. If old, dry caps are shocked by a power in-rush they may short out, burn up, etc, and possibly allow further down the line damage. This can ruin an otherwise functional device. A Variac allows old caps to be warmed up slowly: Set the voltage to, say, 25VAC, power up the device and let it sit for a day. Then ramp it up to 33V and let it sit for another day, etc. This method can often allow old caps to reconstitute without blowing the works. In a week or two you may then have a good-as-new system.

@@CompGuy66 "I find ebay tends to be super overpriced." Here we go. I love how the armchair experts say that something "costs so-o-o much" when in fact, no one wants to pay the real price. I am not a keyboards expert, it was a FORTRON 286 keyboard Model RT-101+ 5-pin 180-degree DIN connector. I was selling it for "buy it now" for $250 I sold it at auction for... $43. 43 fucking dollars. And how much do you think I should sell my old expansion cards, motherboards, etc. that would be worth my time for making the proper posting with taking the photos, researching and writing the description, and then spending some time on properly packaging and driving 15 minutes to the nearest post office to get the real shipping quote because the Ebay shipping calculator sucks monkey's ass?
