Eway backup camera install JKU

bought this off Amazon and while the directions are ok, I can see where people can get confused and lost. I made this video to give a quick idea how to hook it up. Hope it helps

what did you do to reverse (mirror) the video?

I have the same or similar JVC radio you have but I can’t get the camera to work. Did you have to go in the JVC unit settings and do anything for the camera to work? Also I see that loose red wire did you not have to connect that in to the reverse wire at the JvC unit? Either I’m not doing something right or my camera just doesn’t work. I connected red wire to the white/gray at the back and red wire to reverse wire at the unit. Can’t get anything but just the regular radio screen. Thanks for any help.

Hello, I connected the red wire to the white and grey wire to the red wire line your video. I also used the same t taps you used. I flashed my radio with j scan and I’m still getting a black screen, any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

So I'm on my second one of these. Installed the first with no results. Sent a second one, reran it all, again, and still no video on the screen. Mine is a 2104 JKU with the UConnect stock radio. Bought the VGATE OBD2 and JScan app to reset the radio functions to activate the backup camera. I know it's activated the camera section of the radio properly bc I get the warning label when I throw it in reverse "caution - check your surroundings" - but still have a black/blank screen. Messaged the vendor through amazon but still haven't solved the mystery as to why there's no image.

Try removing the ground connection. That was the only thing that made my backup camera work. All connections were made properly otherwise.

Same issue with me. Hooked up power to white/grey and ground to black. Reprogrammed unconnected and no video. Also still confused if he hooked up the ground or not?

Where did you run the rear ground wire?

Rear ground should be connected with black one. He just showed red one with power wire.
