I grew up about 2 miles away from WVIZ's original broadcast studio on Brookpark Road in Cleveland. When my Mom would drive us past the studio when I was a kid I remember I used to point to it and tell her that's where Big Bird and Grover live!

5/2/2005 WVIZ Ideastream Cleveland Ohio Closing - America the Beautiful CET Cincinnati also remained that same thing, and then this really happened at the end of the song.

Ironically this tape also has the XETV footage. So maybe there will be some KPBS in this group of tapes. The original recorder must have spent time in San Diego and Cleveland.

@@ewjxn Well Then I'll wait soon for the tapes of KPBS, but I can't imagine how PBS has changed a lot with better programs, but it can ONLY happen with membership support from Viewers Like You!

I'm certain you have the old WVIZ test pattern and sign-on as well as sign-ons and sign-offs from WAKR (WAKC) Channel 23 and WUAB from the mid to late 1980s.

WVIZ Sign-Off 1984: "This is WVIZ-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, operating under a license granted to the Educational Television Association of Metropolitan Cleveland by the Federal Communications Commission. WVIZ broadcasts on channel 25, 536 to 542 megahertz, with 1 million watts effective radiated power. Using studio-to-transmitter microwave relay KRN-41. WVIZ also operates translator stations W55AH in Chagrin Falls, Ohio on channel 55, 716 to 722 megahertz with 180 watts effective radiated power. W64AK in Sheffield Township, on channel 64, 770 to 776 megahertz, with 14,690 watts effective radiated power.
