Nice work. I'm preparing to CNC the neck pocket (and pickup pockets to keep pickup tops parallel to strings) on an SG replica. Your video helps me decide how to tilt my blank on the CNC. Please detail for me where you set X/Y/Z=0 and probed for that on your CNC. I'm concerned about this getting thrown off between my CAM model and the table-mounted workpiece when it get angled. You and I use different hardware and software but, of course, the principles are the same. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Surprised you aren't using the CNC to do the contour shaping around the edge too. 🤷‍♂️

I still might do the contouring. Vectric vcarve desktop is 2-D software but you can manipulate the molding tool paths to do contouring.

The CNC should be able to cut an angled pocket, correct ?

Yes it can. I don’t yet use the 3D modeling software that can create the angled pocket so I just do it the way I show. I’m learning fusion 360 and sometime soon should be able to create that type of pocket

I know your not the official spokesman for Next Wave CNC machines. I had 3DCNCGUITARS design my neck and Fretboard and I made some minor tool path changes. Up until this point all I have done is surface my spoilboard and engrave a grid. So I tried to run some of the tool paths but they do not cut the same as the demo cutting on my computer. What am I doing wrong?

I’m wondering is the neck design you purchased compatible with vectric v carve?

@@eworcustomguitars yes he works in Aspire and Vcarve. What I thought was weird was that when I went to set the z axis I had to register it on the spoilboard otherwise it would not cut. For now I'm just trying to cut and shape a fingerboard and I'm not having any luck. It shows all the tool paths but when it comes for running those gcodes it only does a part of the and then goes back to the home position
