EWS Pietra Ligure Race Highlights | 2020 Vittoria Tires Enduro World Series Round 2

Round 2 of the 2020 Enduro World Series saw nothing but new trails awaiting our riders here in Pietra Ligure, we're due some fantastic racing. With few riders having an advantage of knowing the ground or trails from previous years, this is as close as you can get to a level playing field, which should make for some tight racing!

In what has been a challenging year for the Enduro World Series and the bike racing world as a whole, Pietra Ligure becomes the penultimate round of the series this year, allowing the season to wrap up in the spiritual home of Enduro, Finale Ligure. Great work to the team. Such a big improvment on the last episode. Music and mix were much improved. Camera angles, B roll shots, adding Neil to the commentary, and great to hear the sound of the bikes and tyres. Those complaining about the music still are probably referring to the flashback to last round at 0:58 ;)

Great episode, and love your getting them out faster now with GMBN. I don't know how much COVID is affecting what you can bring us but would love to have a longer episode with more race day footage and detail about how the day went I was struggling to keep up with who was where after each stage.

Chris there are certain difficulties around working in the current situation, but it's still exactly the same film/edit team trying to give you as thorough coverage as last time! The only thing that's changed is the extent of what can be done in a day at the race thanks to a certain pandemic.

Sorry GMBN but I preferred the PinkBike coverage last year. In an 18 minutes highlights package I don't want to see a recap of the last race or replays of the stage reviews. I can watch those as seperate videos if I want. The 18-20 minute highlights package needs to be fully focused on the race, perhaps have an extended package that goes out to 30 minutes with this extra stuff in it but as is we're getting less than 10 minutes of original race day content. Also way too many adds played in KZbin, every couple of minutes, and just randomly thrown in. Make me watch a few at the start and then a few in the middle at a decent break point. I love EWS and am a fan of GMBN but you need to do better.

@@drumandbassob0007 totally, anything is better than nothing. After watching what they were able to do with audi nines this year its definitely changed my expectations for broadcasting.

@@casestudymtb The logistics of doing that for a small film crew are immense. The DH world cups are on one single track, and so are easier to film, but still are nowhere near perfect. You never see the whole runs on those either, sometimes missing the first half of the track.

It's a great point and of course we all want to see as much action as possible from the races! Covid has definitely made it hard this year but of course, we've got future years to look forward to. The plan is to keep making longer form content bringing you as much info as possible, as fast as possible after an event. So in answer to your question, not soon, for some of the logistical problems and the sheer expense it would cost to have live feed cameras spread so far and wide across multiple hillsides, before employing people to operate them. But again, never say never!

'Tainted' is a strong word, takes away from the individual achievement too much. But you're right in the sense that athletes aren't able to make it for extenuating circumstances, that's the main reason there's no individual championships up for grabs this year, so that no one can claim an overall title in a short series with certain countries' athletes not able to participate.
