This Synod is trying to destroy all our Orthodox teachings!!!! "Two Small Coins" - 5 days ago It all started with a single footnote, the wedge under the door, in Amoris Laetitia, an apostolic exhortation that admits of interpretation. Interpretation is subjective. My interpretation can differ from your interpretation, and our two interpretations can differ from yet another man's interpretation, and so on ad infinitum. Subjective is NOT catholic. It is an abomination. It has no place in the Catholic Church. You won't find it in the writings of the saints or any of the Church’s doctrines and dogmas. Instead of coming down hard on Francis and openly, firmly and unequivocally rejecting this wretched document and its blatant heresies, the greater part of the episcopate fell silent. This silence and lack of resistance on the greater part of the episcopate emboldened him to ignore the outcry of the faithful, to ignore the innumerable letters and petitions and warnings, and even to ignore the legitimate dubia of his cardinals, ultimately "settling" the question with a short note to some bishop in South America that "There is no other interpretation". This is NOT how the Church has ever functioned before, and he should have never been allowed to get away with it, nor should he have been allowed to refuse to answer the legitimate dubia of his cardinals. But once he weathered the initial storm and the few voices of resistance fell silent, he simply proceeded with one heretical document and statement after another, employing the same strategy every step of the way. The devil works by degrees, and Francis builds brick by brick ... rather, I should say, heresy by heresy. Can you not see that Amoris Laetitia, that wretched accursed apostolic exhortation that admits of interpretation, is the foundation and the cornerstone of the entire structure now being raised by the apostates in the Church right before our eyes, namely the antichurch? Can you not see that it is still the wedge under the door which has kept the door open to Fiducia Supplicans and every other slithering, slimy, serpentine heresy creeping into the Church? It was to teach. The difference with The Synod is proposals that have nothing to do with Revelation, Church Doctrine and Dogma are being discussed in secret. We have to ask ourselves why firstly? Is it to change Doctrine, which can't be changed without us knowing it as Faithful. Finally there seems to be nothing proposed at this Synod that seems like it's in line with previous Church teaching. Or, in other words it's not designed to teach the faith and discuss matters of faith but rather things that do not belong or should even be accepted for discussion with regard to Doctrine. You see Doctrine cannot be changed, so what is going on? Why are topics that are not part of Church Doctrine even being discussed? It seems very dubious to say the least an manipulative. Is it to prevent us as faithful having any say with regard to proposals being discussed which oppose Church teaching?

Then he shouldn't call it a Synod. A Synod is Bishops called together to discuss a certain topic or issue regarding a certain Doctrine of the Church. Its purpose is not to change Doctrine or anything else. This is not a Synod. It is a gathering of people amongst whom, some have absolutely no formal teaching or qualifications in Theology, Church Doctrine and Dogma, Holy Scripture or Cannon Law. SYNOD: Catholic Encyclopedia: A general term for ecclesiastical gatherings under hierarchical authority, for the discussion and decision of matters relating to faith, morals, or discipline. Synod and council are, therefore, synonymous terms. Attwater Catholic Dictionary: An ecclesiastical council. (Ecumenical, plenary, national, provincial and diocesan councils) are equally called synods.

@@littlerock5256 that for doesn't include The Laity or other denominations that consider themselves to be a Religion. One of the problems with Vatican 2 is the fact that they invited those outside The Catholic Church to participate and have an input into a Liturgy (The Novus Ordo) that had previously been condemned by multiple Popes, Councils, Synods and by Church Doctrine prior to it.

@@johnjoyce1958 Indeed, a Catholic synod would not include the laity or non-Catholics. But this is an exercise of the post Vatican II conciliar religion, not of the Catholic Church.
