Thank you for sharing. The biggest red flag for me was them saying the whole thing of “people will say that this is a cult”. In my head I asked why though? I’ve never gone to Bible study and my parents say it’s a cult so it was a random thing to hear. I researched cults immediately and said nah I’m out. By God’s grace I hadn’t been there long enough to learn the stuff you guys did, it’s news to me because I ran just as quickly as I walked in.

I am so glad you all are doing this sis. I’m apart of Shimcheonji now. I’ve known it was a cult (they don’t know I know) for a while but God has not allowed me to leave simply to learn and bring others out with me. I now do one on ones with the teacher because I’ve been removed out of the class after being in it for 9 months. I pray that soon I’ll be able to bring people out of here by the power of God.

I came across your content when I was researching the SCJ after being approached by one of their members in Joburg earlier this year. I didn't know about it before. I shared your video with them after declining to proceed with their Bible study to warn them to leave the cult. Fortunately I only attended one Bible study & I immediately knew something was off. Then last weekend I was approached by three SCJ girls trying to evangelise to me in the same mall in Joburg but I ended up evangelising to them this time with the truth of the Word of God & warned them about the cult they're in. I urged them to do more research about SCJ & to question things & to read the Bible for themselves. Please pray that God opens their eyes & leads them out of that cult & to know Him, the one true God & Jesus Christ Who saves.

Yhooo guys i was there when Cape Town branch was being built....when UK was started i remember it well....i ws such a dedicated member until they were forcing me to be full time and serve God....i couldnt do this as i was a single mom at the time my daughter was 12 so i just questioned how im gona provide for my daughter....i then staterd rebelling n this became a problem...eventually i left and today im no longer religous!!!... a week ago i noticed a few members across frm my work place which made me so nervous...so only to find out they've taken over a building across my work place in Cape Town central...those people destroyed alot of families i dispise them!!!

To say that it is a cult and to make propaganda of it is not good... Put yourself in the place where you do good and people say you are a demon... Even it was said about Jesus. Many people said he was a demon, a cult. John 4:24. Do not judge according to the flesh but with the spirit. We judge only with words. That's why you have to check with the Bible. Their teachings are on KZbin. Go see if watching and following and when you have followed everything, will judge yourself if Scj is a cult or not. 😊❤

Thank you for sharing your experience guy! I just left 2 days ago. I’ve been an unknowing student of scj for 3 years in the UK! Someone reached out to me on Instagram , then joined the small class , I moved to the bigger class and had to repeat it because “we weren’t perceiving” only to find out who they are 3 years later! I’m super shocked at the amount of deception that goes on and I thank God I didn’t fall for most of their manipulation because I left immediately they started taking about man he lee. Pray for me because now I need to get rid of the things they taught me as I’m now able to see the discrepancies and misalignment with the bible. The whole time I didn’t know they didn’t believe in the trinity until I asked after watching a few videos and the teacher started talking about 7 spirits instead of answering my question 🙄

Hi Love, It takes so much courage to leave and not going back. Be patient with yourself and take time. I know you want get passed it and move on with your life or get back to how things where before SCJ but it will take time. Do more research on them and their wrong teachings. @@mahle_majola I spoke openly to my mentor and teacher that I was well aware that this bible study was a cult. Its repetition is a form of indoctrination and brainwashing technique that leaves out room for critical thinking. The amount of times one can maximise their capacity to learn 1 topic eg. Yeast, seed, fire, 4 paths etc... is covered in the following schedule rituals 1. Main lesson 2. Homeroom class summary 3. Break room discussions with your allocated mentors 4. Reflection form 5. Re-watch 6. Revision 7. 30 minute re-cap of the previous lesson before begining a new topic.

@All born beauty No I didn't go though the entire bible studies. My heart is not fully invested and I couldn't stop psychoanalysising the whole model and culture this bible study built-up. Its like with most pyramid schemes they teach how to hack the impossible's of life so one doesn't see obstacles but solutions to every problem and alot of it comes down to emotional status and how to hijack rejections and setbacks and make recipients agreeable.

That's the thing, the group does actually "check against scripture", and often cult members have a better, more thorough, understanding of their theology than the average Christian. There have been studies that consistently show how most Christians do not have a basic understanding of their own Christian doctrine, often misunderstanding / not correctly identifying key tenants of the Trinity for example and getting it confused with Modalism, or not understanding the Pre-existence from Christ. Then, here comes a group that can back their claims with scripture (whether its the Jehovah's Witnesses or Shincheonji), and sweeps them away.

Infact that was the plan of the enemy from the first place to work hard thinking you were actually working for God to bind and enslave you. But thank God He set you free. ok so lemme just say that I think I was also part of this shinchonji cult without even knowing....and exactly everything that you have said about revision, memorizing or speech session with your 'soulmate partner' is what has also happened to me...I only found out what this whole cult was, about yesterday night when I got a video recommendation and ngl after binge watching some videos, reading some articles and also comments, I started to realize how everything they taught me in that course is exactly the same thing as other ex members have talked about...I thank God that I began to feel like something was off....But ngl the way they taught everything, actually kinda made sense and it was hard to tell whether it's wrong or not...like I have been a christian my whole life and tbh I know the Bible pretty well, but their false teachings have made me believe some of the things they said, however fast forward to now...I only had the Bible study course since this September and it should've gone till next March or something like that, but I have already cut ties with them...I blocked their numbers/social medias and also left the groupchat I was in...I still think of my 'soulpartner' bcs I began to feel rly close to her and I dunno if she has pretended to be a new member like me or if she was actually not aware of this whole situation...bcs I left everything without saying a word...

I'm so glad you left while it was early and yes their teachings are convincing specially at the beginning but things get inconsistent and very manipulative as time goes. All in all, I am happy that I got out of there before things could have gotten even worse. The term cult has been skewed by hollywood and media, it is not people in dark clothing making sacrifices at midnight, but that may be an example of a cult. A cult in a religious sense, is a religious sense has fringe beliefs and practices which steer away from more orthodox practices and beliefs. For example, Jesus was seen as a cult to the Jews. Cult in a non-religious sense is usually a hierachical system which uses many methods of control and manipulation, having it's members turn to it's leader/s and, or doctrine for authority and answers in life. Best look up the BITE model for a start.

I also miss the people. But what I also realised is everyone was being nice because it was the duty. Either to be a leader or a person in position that is relatable to create trust amongst the congregation members, I just always felt like once the duty was done they were also done with you. I have really good and bad memories with people there. One thing I’m happy about and still grateful for is that I did not recruit anyone, like I did not leave anyone there. If I had I will definitely have told them and give them the research I had found about the organisation.
