Most people go for the Minnie is getting vengeance for past victims of the man's abuse and possible murders. My view is either similarly to "I Do" where they are all aspects of Minnie's personality but during the relationship, he or she killed parts of her personality that she felt he didn't like to become his perfect woman but still couldn't be enough. She killed the relationship to reclaim and re-find herself. (The song talking about all the things she wants in a relationship possibly insinuating she's having to hide those wants to please him). Also would explain them walking off together after Minnie kills him and then on the boat at the end she becomes whole again. OR Minnie killed all these women to have him to herself but she realizes she has blood on her hands for no reason when he still doesn't propose to her. Hence "I want you to fall hardest of all.... Or nothing at all, I want everything!" "I want that psychotic kind of love" and she eventually realizes the other women weren't the problem, but the man was the problem all along so she kills him thinking of the women she felt she had to kill for him. The boat has trophies from her serial killings. While she forgets about the man because he deserved it, she will always remember the women she blamed and killed when they didn't deserve it. (Don't pit women against each other when the man is the problem.)

Here's my theory: Minnie meets a man, falls in love with him and they get married. During the marriage this man becomes abusive. That makes Minnie remember four of her friends who died because of or as a consequence of their own stories of abuse: One tried to separate and ended up in a fire in her own house, another was pushed into the pool where she drowns, another died in a car accident during a fight, and another was slammed against a wall and suffocated. Minnie sees the face of her own abuser in her friends' faces and does not want to become a victim like them, so she decides to take justice into her own hands as an act of liberation and revenge for her friends.

only that the rest of them had the same man. It's either a projection or... Notice, that at the beginning of MV all 5 of them are on the boat, taking turns. They're never together. Only for a short amount of time after they killed him. My guess is that it's a woman with 5 alternate personalities. Now, she wants PSYCHOTIC love, doesn't she? They all in love with this man. They're all remembering different scenes with him as they were controlling the body one at a time. At the end they all hate him. And when they killed him, they did it together. That's why we symbolically see all 5 of them in one shot. But then they get on the boat, they sleep a bit and it's again only 1 woman on the boat. Maybe even she's got cured of her alternate personalities. OR A WILDER GUESS. What if she's just that alien from I DO, who's got escape in that final scene? That alien could shapeshift, remember?

(G)I-Dle has come a long way from debut. I'm so proud of what they've done and always will be. OT6 years were the best and I do miss Soojin being with them but I'm also proud that she's back as a soloist. Soojin was born to be in the industry and her comeback, her loyal fans, the support and love we gave her, she deserves it all. I hope someday we can see them perform together even if it's just for a "collab" and not an official re-group. Whatever the future path that leads them, I will continue to journey with Soloist Soojin and of course (G)I-Dle. Side note: ONE more week until (G)I-Dle's new album so I hope to see your reaction to it!

My interpretation is that the video is about an abusive relationship between this man and all of his girlfriends. Minnie is the latest in the women that this guy has dated and abused so when she takes her revenge against him, she has the energy of all the women before her with her who got out. That is why they disappear and reappear at the gun scene and in the boat because it was really only her who physically did it. Love this song and the video, they really don't match but they can get away with anything. Love your videos 😊

This is a fantastic song, and the video is very interesting. My only problem is that the two don't match up. The lyrics don't imply in any way what's going on in the video. I don't hate that, but it's curious that they chose to go this route. If you heard the song, then watched the video without sound you would think that they're from two different songs.

OOOH thanks for bringing this up! I meant to talk about it at the end of my reaction but I forgot to- From my perspective, the lyrics describes the desire and wanting of an "exciting and new" kind of love, and from my understanding of that type of love from my own personal experiences, it's basically a temporary high. The "solid" kind of love requires hard work and compromise, which doesn't work for someone who's wanting and desiring that rush from an exciting and new love. That doesn't mean that the "solid" kind of love isn't exciting, it's more so not as "at risk" as a new one (I hope that makes sense). Also, when you want something versus needing it, it's not as necessary; example- we need food to survive, we want chocolate to indulge. So seeing each member's character backing out on something that they already have that's solidified (like Minnie's wedding, Yuqi's playful relationship, Shuhua's proposal, etc.) makes sense with the lyrics of the song expressing the perspective of someone "wanting more" and not really being ready for anything other than the exciting and new love.

@@ogkpopstan in my thinking, the lyrics describe an intense and obbsessive 'love' and the video show how a love like that can go bad. I saw a comment speculating aside from Minnie, everyone else is dead and Minnie is left to take revenge - maybe in the end the parallels to earlier scenes show their spirits have found peace? Or maybe it's too close to Halloween and I'm getting carried away lol either way, this is such a cool song and video, I really like it when a music video makes you think. @@ogkpopstan O.K. that's a viable theory. But, it has to be surmised rather than illustrated. From the video, what I see are women getting into, what at first, is a great love affair, but then their partner turns violent. As to the ending, there are multiple theories, but, for me it's that, the other girls were victims who didn't survive, and Minnie is the one who stands up and ends this, then escapes to her boat. Thus, the other 4 walking away with her, and them being with her on the boat "in spirit", but when she wakes up they're not really there. She's "justice" for those who didn't or couldn't defend themselves. Just my theory. ;) This song immediatly became one of my top Idle songs regardless of any of this, it's fantastic.

Nah, the contrast between the empowered lyrics and the un-empowered abuse drive the point home brilliantly and in the end you realize that the lyrics were about the woman she was going to become, and became, all beautifully encapsulated in the dreamy-flashback ambience of the video. Same as in I Do, where a cute visual love story had melancholic lyrics and music about her being unable to love you like the singer would and... behold, in the end... she was right. Cause she is an Alien that cant be with you and has to go back home. You don't get more Idle than the contrast between sad-lyrics/happy music made into MVs, but people are dumb AF. @@eredengrin
