I have traveled to many US cities for work and LA has the best weather in continental US. The fan base is very large and you can always go to an Angel game, but winning makes a difference.

I cringe every time I see a title saying “Ex Dodgers GM Ned Colletti…”. This guy was one of the worst GMs in Dodger history. He only bought washed up retiring DFA’d players and gave some atrocious contracts. 2006-2014 was not the worst but certainly a dark period of Dodger franchise.

I think Colletti is wrong about the AAV of $36M for five years to Blake being anything but an overpay! Snell has never pitched an entire season, he starts off slow, he’s often injured. I loved Blake on the Dads and wanted him in SF but he didn’t give them a full season and again it was due to a conditioning issue as some of his past woes may have been. Why would anyone think he’s going to improve all that at age 35? He was the best pitcher in baseball in the second half and probably earned an AAV of $40M but for three years not five! LA easily paid $50m too much unless there are performance and appearance stipulations in the contract, be interesting to know that. And I will add SF deserved the right to match so I hope Boras wasn’t the dick he’s known to be and didn’t give them that opportunity

You seem to be on both sides of your argument. You write that it’s an overpayment and should be 3yrs, but also want him back and want SF to have a chance to match the deal. Matching won’t get a player to pick SF over LA. BTW, 62m is deferred and the AAV was announced at 32.4m.
