With how much love & care you put into the Wizard’s era, I didn’t think you cared for anything after. How wrong I am! I’m looking forward to your deep dive into what I now know is your favorite era of the game.

Been waiting a long time for this. The EX-era is when I got into collecting Pokémon cards so it's super nostalgic for me. Cheers for mentioning Team Magma's Groudon, I've held on to that beauty of a card for ages now.

As a kid I had decks like Raindance Blastoise and Haymaker with some neo cards thrown in but quit playing the game after that. I'm really curious how the EX format compares to base~neo, particularly as the EX format tops out at 120HP as well. I'm curious if there were still effective Haymaker archetypes as not only do 'big' basics in the EX format appear weaker from what I've seen, 1st and 2nd stage pokemon seem to have more efficient attacks and more hit points, particulary cards from the later EX sets. Not to mention strong trainers being limited here as once-per-turn supporters. Personally, I like the idea of Haymaker being a balanced archetype. Also, I noticed attacks use more colorless energy which I imagine is balanced because there's no double colorless energy in this format. Perhaps a video comparing these different old metas could be interesting ;-). In any case, while I can get behind the supporter mechanic, I can't say I like the idea of EX pokemon, let alone evolved pokemon being basics, so I'll likely stick to GBC romhacks lol.

I was 8 when Ruby and Sapphire came out, Ruby was my first pokemon game. Gen 3 is such a source of nostalgia for me, and I've been looking forward to seeing videos on "the Golden age". I'm not familiar with alot of the archetypes, but I would love to see discussions on the theme decks at the time, or any "budget deck" someone could build today

Wow, I didn’t know the TCG had Double Battles once upon a time! That actually sounds kind of fun, weird how it never took off.

I am surprised the 2 vs 2 format didn't take off. It sounds like a really fun alternative way to play. The rule that only one of the Pokemon can attack per turn seens rather dumb though and kinda defeats the purpose of the format.
