I jsut came into the church and like Dusty, I was an opponent of the church and after mich back and forth with God, I was baptized almost a month ago, and yesterday I received the Aaronic Priesthood.

When Dusty stated that “our testimony is a living breathing thing”, I felt a warmness in my spirit because I had a dream after my baptism in which I was pregnant and the enemy captured and held me bound because of the pregnancy. Heavenly Father later revealed to me that the pregnancy was my testimony. Satan did not want me to share my testimony so he devised a way to capture, imprison and gag me. But our God is so faithful that He delivered me from bondage and now I freely bear and share my testimony whenever I have the opportunity to do so.

Dusty is an inspiration and a great example of faith in God. That it is okay to ask questions and even struggle in this life. We all have to come our own relationship with God. If we desire to be with and follow Christ we must repent and seek him.

This story has brought up many memories for me. I was raised in the church, but each of us still has a conversion time and story. It happened while I was participating in the Hill Camorah pageant. During that time my boyfriend was on his mission. He ended up doing things that he was excommunicated for and sent home from his mission. I chose, months later, to still marry him and by so doing became close to being disowned. I (we) also endured many years of being snubbed and rejected by other members as we still tried to participate at church. Now, years later, three of my four children have left the church, one of whom actively and openly fights against the church as Dusty did. I try to have hope that they will return to the gospel, as currently their hearts are so hard. One of them has antagonistically tried to get me to leave the church, and because I said no, they have not spoken to me for two years now. If I hadn't been converted when I was and fought to keep my testimony, I would have many reasons to feel justified for leaving the church. Dusty's story has given me some hope and reminded me that I need to be patient in the Lord.

Your story is wonderful, Dusty! I've heard it numerous times over the years, but the first time was before the story even came to light. We home taught Garden Girl, and she (Jeanie H) related that she had a small miracle happen when she was chatting with a non member fella on the *board* at the time she first realized you two were cousins! (Jeanie also mentioned the humor of telling you to *get over yourself* due to her age.....we had a good laugh over that!) FWIW, I have similar thoughts about coincidences as you, Dusty......to me they are just small miracles that most folks don't realize are associated with our Father in Heaven. If we open our eyes and recognize that the Lord is constantly blessing us with frequent miracles, we will eventually be buried with a big smile on our face! May God bless you for putting smiles on thousands (if not millions) of faces, Dusty!!! 🙂🙂🙂

I love that we are being more open about church history. I have had many a good friend leave when they started hearing details of church history that made them uncomfortable. Now, most of what they heard was the typical taking a true story and adding details that are either completely false or unverifiable through actual sources, but it bothered them that no one had ever brought up the underlying story. This has led them to the conclusion that if the church wasn’t even talking about it, it must be hiding something. I don’t know why I wasn’t impacted the same way, I sought out primary sources of as much truth as we actually knew from fantastic institute professors, maybe that is why, I don’t know that I ever will know. I certainly don’t think it was ever the churches intent to hide things, because there’s nothing for individual members to be ashamed of, I think they just thought it shouldn’t be the focus, the errors of our pioneers.

Yes, it is true that if you write a letter stating that you want your name removed from the records of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they will remove your name as requested. Essentially, this is an excommunication. My sister left the church to try to get her husband to not divorce her. (Didn’t work.) She truly went "anti" and still is. She also had our mother leave the church, as that was how our mother could live with her. Both wrote those letters. A few years later, our mother died. I immediately requested that she be rebaptized. A year later, her temple ordinances were reinstated. I am grateful she was able to have this service performed for her. It will be her own agency to accept it or not. God does not give up on us. We give up on God. Through the Atonement we can repent and be forgiven.

I love this testimony. Dusty, your understanding is about as close to mine as any I have heard since joining our Church 7 years ago. My testimony is on Saints Unscripted under the name Jesus gave me, Treyeshua. Are you still lawyering? I may have some cases for you. As I grow in Christ the opposition as come to me in the forms of legal troubles from those bearing false witness. Producers of Latter Day Believers- If you liked my Saints Unscripted conversion story, what has happened since then is perhaps even remarkable. Let me know if you need more content from me.

When you seek answers from the Book of Mormon instead of the Bible, God can't help you because you have turned your back on Him. Therefore this leaves the door open for Satan (II Corinthians 11:14-15) to step into your life with a false christ or prophet showing you signs and wonders to lead you away from the real Jesus of the Bible who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. God Himself warns us about this in: MATTHEW 24: 23-24 "Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..." Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in? A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan. OR B. The Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity and the Eternal Creator God.
@wheat23448 ай бұрын
Albert, show me where in the Book of Mormon it teaches Jesus and Satan are brothers. You have opened yourself up to accusations by the accuser of the brethren and have been blinded by satan to think we’re not praying to and worshiping the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
@AlbertJLouie8 ай бұрын
@wheat2344 No your wrong. God gives us all the right to question anyone/church claiming to be of God. I JOHN 4:1 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world..." The Mormon church doesn't like to be tested because there is no Biblical or academic evidence to support anything in Mormonism. You and I have already talked extensively, and your only response was with insults, evasion, redirection, talking in circles, avoidance, answering questions with questions. So you had to talk, but you choose unrighteousness. So we're done talking.
@wheat23448 ай бұрын
@@AlbertJLouie fruits of the spirit are patience and long suffering. You’re really good at dodging those. You must have not listened to the story of Dusy, he tested those spirits and God gave him miracles in his life and revealed truth to him by his spirit. I have tested those spirits. The most amazing part of that is our lived experiences with God and His Holy Spirit are not at the mercy of your opinion.
