For me, Snatch is Guy Ritchie's "Pulp Fiction". More raw and still evolving as a director, but pure genius and iconic. The Gentlemen is his Django Unchained, being the product of the director really having mastered his craft and his style of filmmaking. Both have fantastic casts, characters, writing, etc. They're standout highlights in the career portfolio already filled with other great works.

I like how he points out that in terms of youths carrying knives not much has changed though. There's a lot of public buzz about this just falling out of the sky hence we don't get realistic solutions. But the truth is it was always like this. Now there's just smartphone cameras to record it. You go to any neighborhood and dig around, you'll find local stories with whole ass murders that never left that community.

@@CorporateG0th a lot HAS changed though, just not in the way of the weaponry... To say the things are as they always have been is an utterly dumb statement. It's clear that the violence of gang related incidents has become far more... obvious, let's say. I would personally say, and I am FAR from the only person with this mindset (been around quite a few biker gangs, and it's pretty damn clear that the newer generation of "gangsters" chase the adrenaline rather than the bag. AKA, it's not entirely a business for them, but also an outlet, making things become far more dangerous than it used to be. This man is a smart man that appreciates culture. Many don’t realize that successful career criminals would have been successful in almost any walk of life but are typically born in to what they became. Great that KZbin and Cinema gives them the chance to walk a different path because their insight in to a different world would otherwise be lost. Also loved this movie, charismatic characters that really pull you in to a believable storyline; no cgi needed; just solid actors, script, and filming.

Gotta admit, I was *not* expecting such a masterful dissection of the art of cinematography. He ain’t coming into this cold, bro’s done his research and instead of focusing on the similarities and differences between reality (his own experience) and the screen portrayal, he concentrates on Guy Ritchie’s crafting of a story from a script, with some awesome character acting performances - truly Hugh Grant’s Magnus Opus, what he could’ve achieved if he’d not sold out to the cheap but easy RomCom market, one wonders😂😂 - and just sprinkles in the lightest dusting of his own criminal past where it really adds value to the analysis. In case you couldn’t tell, I like & respect this guy a huge amount. Have bought the book, tyvm, and I’ll give it a read. Great video.

Guy Ritchie needs to give us a crossover with Lock Stock, Snatch, Rock n Rolla & the Gentlemen, the toughest part would be getting all those great actors together, but it would be insanely easy to connect all the characters if you just write Bacon(got married & moved away or something) out for the sake of having Turkish as a more prominent character. Tom, Eddy & Soap could have used their shotgun money(after renting some scuba gear) to buy out Eddy's dad's bar, which they make into a fancy restaurant that Soap runs, along with some other properties, that Tom & Eddy now run the card game & more gambling left vacant by Harry's demise, with Big Chris & a now grown Lil Chris(Will Poulter, Alex Pettyfer, Jack O'Connell) as their security/Debt collectors. Also renting the properties to Turkish & Tommy who are now Legitimate MMA promoters( with their diamond money) linking them to Coach & His gym, & Mickey & Roman for concerts. Bring back Archie & Johnny now running Lenny's planning racket, along with some more criminal endeavors they use the Wild Bunch for, Make Uri, Aslan's dad from his 1st fling with the wrong woman, with them & Mickey's crew have joined forces to put the Russian mob in their place & going into further partnerships, Make Winston & J 2 of Mickey's top botanists to bring it full circle & even have Johnny randomly take Power Noel under his wing as a former Musician, turned Junkie, turned gangster protege/Pete stand-in. Unite them all against Arab gangsters who are encroaching on every level well above what the Russians were. For the love of god, put Danny Dyer, Daniel Craig, & Dominic West in the things.

Here's a idea. Former gangster turn private detective, when the body of a aristocrat's daughter is pull from the Thames she has a silk stocking around her throat and another silk stocking shove down the detective establishes three other aristocrat's daughter's have been found dead in the same way he concludes "this is not the work of a "Ripper' the killer is a sexual sadist. The detective must enter the world of BDSM clubs. As the detective gets closer to catching the killer he realises he must revert back to his old ways before the killer strikes again and use his own brand of justice to stop the killer.

Never knew who Stephen Gillen was, until watching this video. Great respect for what you've achieved and what you're doing sir. If it wasn't for martial arts, I would have ended up in the nick as a young lad, so I can only admire your work and vision. Respect! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
