Love him or hate him, Coach Knight was one of the greatest NCAA basketball coaches of all time if not the best

He was the best. He ran an honest program, won and graduated his players. As opposed to Wooden at UCLA who had a booster named Sam Gilbert who did whatever it took to get players to come to UCLA. Wooden coached for 17 years, then Sam Gilbert showed up and at that point UCLA started winning national championships. Bob Knight in his second year had Indiana University in the final 4 and by his 5th or 6th year guided Indiana to a national championship. Wooden could not have won in the way Knight did with the talent Knight had. There's no comparison between the 2. Knight is the best college basketball coach ever.

Robert Montgomery Knight! The General. 3 National titles and a lot of respect from his former players. He was tough because he coached at Army. Coach K from Duke was his assistant coach. People might not like him but you have to respect him. Good luck coach Knight in your retirement.

Great teachers know how to show you what to do and what not to do, and mistakes are the markers of what not to do. Everyone has a different psychological makeup. Some are more self-critical than others and may need more positive reinforcement rather than a kick in the a....s- but, in all cases, mistakes and tragedy are also an opportunity from which to learn and succeed. Knight was doubtless a great teacher and his players learned a lot from him. His was not the only way, but it worked, and that's what counts.

This was a "decent" interview. When they have interviews with coaches that write books or have books written about them, I always prefer that they be interviewed by people that either played the game or coached in their individual sports because they go much more in depth and the coaches are more relaxed and the interviews are MUCH better overall.
