As a individual who was also raised in it, since I was five, My Grandparents, My Mother not my father, also my oldest sister who was 17 years older than me, married at the Kingdom Hall was all Jehovah witnesses!! I began to notice some things that wasn’t quite right but continue to try my best to be loyal and dedicated!! I finally woke up in August 2019!! After 40 decades! I researched for myself the history of Rutherford along with the many changes and failures of predictions ! Even the Royal Australia Child abuse hearings made my mouth dropped on the floor!! Later I picked up a KJV Bible with the apocrypha in it, just read it from Genesis to Revelation without any JW publications, a light of truth came to me, the entire bible is about Christ and the Israelites!! Not Jehovah witnesses, not some spiritual Israel!! Yes, being in JW taught me some valuable things like you said!! I still believe in the Creator of Heaven and Earth, I put faith in Christ!! I keep the commandments! Learning all that I did, I made a conscientious decision to leave JW organization!! My mind is free from so much false information and false doctrines now!!

I delivered my letter in April 2019. My act was a political act. I am very proud of my decision. My positivity and the joy that followed this withdrawal destabilized those around me. My joyous emancipation only made their subjugations more evident. I have shown my family and in-laws that fear stifles thinking and stifles the real personality. This family electroshock will have saved my two cherished children. My withdrawal should become a chance for all those around me and not a shame. Gone are the days when we exJWs were silent in our isolation. Today let us be proud to have excluded this company from our life. Let us stand up and speak, bear witness, with a loud voice. Too bad your video doesn't explain why you left this apocalyptic religion. This should have been the central theme of your video instead of repeating the same things several times (I left voluntarily, I stayed the same, I still believe in God and I am authentic) it's a shame, but I hope there will be a sequel to this video explaining why you left the Watchtower company. Today there is a great demand for this and the number of views of your video proves it. Today, more and more of us are leaving this cult with unfortunately the same experience. In five years more than a million Jehovah's Witnesses left this society, which is why today, EXJW activism has become the most active, numerous, and dynamic “religious” dissidence in the world. The more the years pass, the more absurd this cult will become. The “elastic” generation is already proving it and this is only the beginning. Many of us are waiting for the rest of this video... I can not believe this religion is still going on. I was a pioneer and we did not have the internet because it was many years ago. People today should not be brainwashed in todays world. It was difficult for me to leave as well. The history of this religion is so sad. 1799 was the start of the end. The Harp of God taught for 40 years 1874 God`s Kingdom came. The end was coming in 1914 and when that did not happen they moved the date from 1874 to 1914. They also told people in the 1920`s millions now living will never die. Children were told not to marry the end was so close. When I was in it 1975 was going to be the end. They told us not to conduct Bible studies for more then 6 months the end was so close. Two sisters in my Kingdom Hall got disfellowshioped because they asked wonder if the end does not come. The Elders said they had a lack of faith because that was impossible. Can not believe it is still going on. Sad that Billions of people have wasted their entire life on the cult. When I left I felt just like you. People I had Bible Studies with came and tried to help me they said stay till 1975 and see happens. I made the right move by leaving and so did you. I too believe in God, however I do not trust religion and just go to him and I have had a great life. You are strong and hope it works out for you.

Its a cult. That is why I did not dissasociate myself, because I did not want to give them the satisfaction of doing things on their terms. You know that if you get into a contract with someone who did not disclose crucial information that is needed for you to make an informed decision, that contract can be anulled and not will not be binding. JW/WT does not disclose to us when they conduct a study with us that they will shun you and worse make your family shun you, that they once preached and thought that in 1935 the Old Testament patriachs and prophets such as Abraham, David, Samuel, Isaac etc were going to be resurrected and as a result; in 1929 constructed a 10 bedroom mansion they named Beth Sarim. They did not disclose that when you have committed an adultery or fornication as a woman four men will be asking you intimate questions about the incident, including questions such as “did you cry when…?” “Did you enjoy…?”, “did you or him remove your…?”. Let alone disclose that their tteachings will always cahnge with times and that the old publication with old teachings will later deemed apostasy when you study it. Given all this information I do not think that the JW Org would have had so many people becoming members.

For me, it's paramount what Yeshu taught was critically missing in the Law, "mercy". And some christian religions, if not ALL OF THEM, have given so much grip on the bible scriptures that the bible has become a "law" for them. I remember how much I used to argue about this with jws back on early 80's. Instead of yielding to my pleadings, they would boast that there was nowhere in this planet where you would find a jw who has left the society for another religion. Well, I used to tell them straight that they were being deceived. I really congratulate any believer who outgrow 'the bible' scriptures, and venture ahead in God's graces 🙏

Nowhere in the Bible were we commanded to report certain number of hours monthly. Yet this arrangement has shaped the culture of the organisation. This arrangement stunted the growth of a lot of young ones who have a lot of potentials to be useful to the community and to the world; they became a slave to an organisation for its own interest instead. The GB made people believe that blindly slaving for the organisation means slaving for the Kingdom. JWs also highly praised pioneers. This so-called privilege made them have the image of being more spiritual than those who are not pioneering. We all know that this isn’t the way to measure the goodness of one’s heart. A lot of pioneers are hypocrites. Maintain a good relationship with God. I hope you will be guided to find happiness and I hope you will live a life that will make yourself and God happy.

How can a soul be starved of the "Good News" of salvation while they have their own bibles to read on whenever they want to? It beats me! Please, welcome your repentance by UNDOING the wrong of preaching and teaching a "killer" gospel. You have misled many souls when you were brainwashed. So go out as usually with your magazines, and even visit families you have been trying to win over, ONLY that this time you speak of your folly. I strongly suggest that, for a change, get yourself a copy of the Book of Mormon and read it. Just read it. It is also called a Third Testament of Jesus Christ. Just read it through. Something is really amiss. It reminds me of when kings would change and so would the nation of Israel. Jehovah was always working with individuals. I meditated on that. I realized something important. Who helped Elijah, Elisha, even Jeremiah? It was people who where not if Israel, foreigners. Jesus rebuked the religious leaders - Sadducees, Pharacees, and scribes - because they thought by being part of "God's People", "Abraham's Seed" that they where set. But he clearly indicated that, no, its a personal responsibility that each individual must shoulder. In Matt Ch7 he shows this clearly. We are responsible for controlling what is in our own hearts. SO clearly its an individual thing and not an "organization" thing. On my part I did nothing wrong. My Service group leader came to my door one day and told me I am no longer one of JW. This was during the Covid crisis. OK. I honestly did not feel any loss. I tried my best to encourage draw close and be part of other's lives in the congregation. It was just cold. Something really has change from the fantastic great warm closeness that drew me in. And what is more, there are some disturbing recent teachings as well that I cannot consciously swallow. I love Jehovah and there is no doubt he loves each of us greatly. I have not lost faith in him or his son Jesus. Yet it is a little... wobbly no longer "leaning" on the common routines. But isn't that how we learn to fly?

The only advice I can give you is do not let guilt creep into your life at any cost it is the only thing that befalls most next Jehovah's Witnesses I have been out for 40 years feel good about yourself you have done nothing wrong and remember that.Learn to love yourself because the people you know in the faith may not any longer as far as shunning or disfellow shipping I'm sorry to say be prepared because it probably will not change but it does soften overtime have a wonderful day

I am an ex-witness from 17-35, but during that period, I studied for a bachelor's and master's degree.. and started a PhD just before I became inactive and eventually left. Actually, when I started my PhD I started to question religion more and came to the conclusion that God doesn't exist. There is no heaven or hell. I know we want to blame our lack of education on being JW but I feel its also not true. Lastly, for the brothers, we went to bethel and full-time service, and the signed a consent form to engage in these activities.

Leaving a religion it’s like being free from slavery, during slavery what the colonizers thought our ancestors ? To be obedient to theirs masters if they want to go to heaven? Religion is a form of control in every aspect of your life, specially JW.

Remember the Bible says that Jesus is the way ,the truth and the life no one comes to the father but by him. Churches are not the way,Jesus is. That is why they called the Mormon church and Jehovah's witnesses church cults ,because they said you must be part of their organization to be saved while giving lips service to Jesus. I give you a verse to read Roman 10v9 trough 10 if you believe in your heart the lord Jesus and confess with your mouth that God raised him from the dead you shall be saved for with the heart man believe and are justified and with the mouth confession is made into salvation. I am an ex jw too, it seems some are DF'd for leaving and some are not. I think the JW's believe that if you leave you are an apostate so many are shunned or DF'd.

And yes, a lot of JWs are good people. I myself have made very meaningful friendships with them. They are good-hearted and well-meaning people but are very deeply indoctrinated by the GB.

@@KekeGrobbelaar Yes, you are right. I used to be scared of doing my own research too, even when I felt that things didn’t add up. I swept my questions under the rug because it seemed scandalous to ask. And when I asked those who seemed mature spiritually, they also weren’t able to give me satisfying answers. I also believed that I didn’t have anywhere else to go. And so I just sucked it all up. Now by God’s help I am free from the indoctrination. I realized that in seeking the truth about our Grand Creator, I won’t be alone. I’d be with the one who is the most loving and most powerful in the entire universe and He will never abandon anyone whose intention is to know Him better. That comforted me and kept me protected. I also realized that not looking for answers outside the organization is the same as rejecting the real truth. One thing I am sure of, the GB are not who they claim to be.

If,I may ask, why is the issues revolving around JWs a matter of so much concerns to those who willfully embraced the religion but latter shrink back to the point of coming to the public space without being asked, to justify the reasons why they left. To me, I feel there's more to whatever excuses they are giving. For me it is much more better to take your decision quietly. Your destiny is in your own hand. You can choose to do whatever you like with it.

Thank you for your question. To answer it, I think you would have to have been part of the religion to fully understand, however, because of the strict policies of this particular religious group, for the sake of transparency, it is important to make it known, at least to those close to you, if you are no longer a member. This is out of respect for their beliefs and being mindful of their conscience. Other people have their own reasons as to why they choose to make it public knowledge, but I can only speak for myself.
