Body armor isn’t the end all be all and depending on what it is, it may not stop 556 AP rounds.. also, if it’s soft armor then forget it, basically useless. Also, you can’t wear armor over your whole body. Usually just covers the vitals., but the bad guy always has the tactical advantage of a surprise. That doesn’t mean you can’t be prepared and have a plan that the family can follow. Not saying it would have went different. But preparedness is key. Guns for self protection and life preservation is key.
