This is why i am so glad we drafted Jordan Travis. I am still excited about that pick because the situation he's in is super optimal. He gets to sit behind Arod, and Tyrod and just learn and because he ide all the way to the 5th round due to his injury i believe we got a real steal. People forget how good he was playing at Florida State. Thank good Joe Douglas didn't. He can marinate on the bench for at least two years and when its finally time for him to start i believe we will have a legitimate franchise quarterback for the future thats ready to ball out
@Ballin-97Ай бұрын
He didn’t slide to the 5th round mainly due to injury. All the major scouting profiles refer to his deficiencies as a passer as to why he was a day 3 pick. What makes you believe he was more than a late 3rd round prospect at best? Do you have sources? All the major websites do not corroborate your claim Also, look at the entire history of 5th round qbs. Mark Brunell in the early 1990s is literally the only 5th round qb to ever start in a significant capacity in the nfl. Mike White is arguably the 2nd best 5th round qb ever. Travis might be good, but there is no reason to believe so other than Jets fan bias

@Ballin-97Ай бұрын
@@noahblack5620 but a 5th round pick has never done it other than Mark Brunell. And by your logic, every single qb in every draft should be considered to have franchise qb potential because Purdy did it and he was the last pick.. but that is obviously flawed logic

@@Ballin-97 The conclusion from the available data should be that very late round QBs have a low success rate, not that the arbitrary distinction of a 5th round QB vs a 4th round QB (Which was where Cousins and Dak were drafted) is relevant. Travis will most likely not work out but to say he cannot succeed because he happened to be drafted in the 5th round vs the 4th 6th or 7th is silly. There's no mystical quality about the 5th round that makes QB drafted there be bad
