In my opinion, I personally think that the true Oasis fans know how much Noel and Paul suffered as kids with their dad beating them up, they took the brunt to protect Liam, he's alot younger than them and in alot of ways was protected from it all and I think that that's why Liam behaves the way he does and why Noel was never bothered/didn't react as much because he'd been through absolute hell with their Dad.

Drinks and alcohol were always there , albeit not the strong stuff . It’s like not MadChester was scarce of drugs . Most bands decline for multiple of reasons. It’s remarkable that they stayed relevant for 15 years and even during 2009-present , people still talked about them and they now have kids born from 2005 to present dying to see them live . The numerous of generations that will go to these reunion gigs will be crazy . The 18-20 year olds from 1993-1996, their kid brothers who were too young to go to gigs at the peak of Brit pop but saw them between 97to 2005 , the 1990s kids that missed out of just got the last of the 2009 era, then pretty much anyone born after 2000 (many of them are now in their 20s) . Hell even the kids from 2008 onwards ,

@@kevo1978Because the KZbin algorithm foists suggestions on you all the time about stuff you might not even like.. Out of the blue, the BBC is running about 6 stories concurrently about Oasis (aren't they meant to be impartial and restricted from product placement and advertising?). This is all by design but you're never told why. It's the promotion gurus working in overdrive bombarding you relentlessly with hype about a band from the 90's. What are the reasons? Have Oasis got new material to showcase? Historically,it has been said, Oasis' marketing hits its stride always in August with the release of public statements pushing for attention in all media seeking maximum publicity. What's with a 30 year band that is supposed to be emulating the Beatles doing this now in 2024? The Beatles never reformed, nor would they ever have. I met Noel and he was great, had a good chat about football (outside a football stadium) until some girl recognized him and he instantly changed and sped off into the VIP entrance. They broke up a week or two later. It was at Ewood Park, Blackburn v Man City, first match of the season, 2008(?). I think context is important in these situations. How their mindset is, and yours, at that particular time. I prefer Noel over Liam now, but was the other way around when I was a teenager in he 90’s. Met Bonehead, too. Watched the intro clips and thought "meh this guy looks abit arrogant and talking shite" but I must admit i ended up watching the whole thing and this guy tells things in a very interesting way. Doesn't really exaggerate any stories and seems like he's telling the truth best to his memory. Good interview

Same here, saw him sat wearing a Para cap, then proceeded to talk about the RAF briefly. Instantly thought he was a Walter Mitty, glad I gave it another minute, then another. Before I knew it I’d listened and enjoyed the lot👊🏼🇬🇧

There's something about ex-military guys that seems to make them less ego-focused and more inclined to be concise and accurate in their speech. I certainly prefer those behavioural traits even though I wasn't military myself. I did experience formal discipline though and learned early to respect its importance in getting sh1t done in the real world. Good solid interview. Nearly got me to soften my hard dislike of the brothers. I think it was the footage of Noel tearing down the paparazzi photographer who dared to touch his car that turned me fully against them both. I still remember his sneering arrogance and intense hatred at the guy. I don't think it matters what the circumstances were. That shows his true nature. Decent people don't allow themselves get overrun with irrational hatred like that.

This man's story of the music industry is spot on, I worked for a security company back in the late 70's and into the early 80's and the bands were like god's to the punters, they would do absolutely anything to get into the venues, or into the dressing rooms, but as time rolled on I became bemused by the band promoters and the road managers who would round up keen fans to send up to the stage bars or green rooms, and these fans would be hoodwinked for the sake of sitting with an idol, glad I got out when I did. The thing about the bad boys and their image is the acceptance from the fans and the media that arrogance was expected, for me many did not do that stuff.

I clicked on this video cause I thought it was some bloke looking to sell his "insider" book - money-fishing type of guy. Sorry for that to him, really; What a decent and honest man. He had absolutely nothing but good things to say about everyone when he might not even had to.

My thoughts on the recent interview with Iain, which I found to be both articulate and insightful. It was particularly interesting to hear his reflections on his time in service, especially during his tenure with B Company. Iain mentioned both tours in Northern Ireland (NI) during 1981 and 1982, providing a vivid account of those experiences. Additionally, I am reminded of Viv Cook, a quiet yet physically imposing figure whom everyone respected. It was clear that he was someone you simply did not mess with, and his presence alongside Iain adds another layer to our understanding of that period. This interview has been one of the best watches I’ve experienced so far. Iain's humility, truthfulness, and bright demeanor shone through, making it an enriching experience. I am genuinely pleased to see Iain's continued success; he truly deserves every bit of it. Also served 1 Para 1980/2004.

It’s not wrong, but it’s clever, because it plays into our expectations of ‘exposing’ always being negative. But it is, of course, any new information from a different perspective you haven’t heard before, positive, negative and everything in between.
