My take on it: She stayed silent all of those years hoping that they would rekindle.. she wanted to be on good terms with him and stay loyal in the case he divorces his wife. She felt that she could be next in line. Listen to her words carefully, he allegedly brought her into the Trump Tower and showed her Melania’s private room. This caused her to think they were having problems in their marriage, since they had separate rooms. The interviewer asked if she felt their affair could lead to marriage, she replied “maybe”. She claims she was in love with him.. she stated multiple times she wanted to protect her image (she worked for playboy, she didn’t have a clean image) yet said in the same breath that she was protecting HIM. She was charmed and secretly hoped his marriage to Melania wouldn’t last. When he was running for Presidency.. she was baited to sign a non-disclosure agreement by deception.. it made her angry. She realized he was never leaving his wife at this point.. that she would never be his wife. Again it made it real for her that she was merely his dark secret. She would never be seen or loved in the light of his wife. Same as when she stated how going into his apartment that he shared with his wife made it real. The fact that he was married.. it squashed her fantasy. The end of the interview wraps it all up in one statement. A repeated sentiment from the beginning. Anderson asked if she has any regrets and she said only one.. that “he was married”. And he still is married. That is her regret. She said she would’ve done it all over again if he wasn’t married and it’s not that she feels guilty about his wife.. she WANTED TO BE HIS WIFE. Publicizing her story is not only about money.. she claims she would tell it for no money. It is emotional. It is a felt betrayal. That is her motive.
