could you please do a video on self carriage and getting the horse to go long and low and round their back?
@varpu37063 жыл бұрын
Yes please do, it would be nice to hear your thoughts and approach to that. I’ve been trying to research the mythical state of being called peränanto or muoto (in Finnish), because nobody really explains it well, in Finnish at least. I’ve watched a few videos from a channel called arttoride and it seems to heavily focus on that. And then some video where they used target training to teach the horse to hold head low. And then some with all kinds of gadgets.

oh, another beautiful red-head. Aileen is a real looker. And so much improvement in so short of a time. As I've said before, Shelby, you are the zen horse master: so knowledgeable and kind. You and the OTTBs are a perfect match. Thank you for sharing :)

I wish you lived near me, I have an OTTB who raced 4 years, and he's really hard to get in a rhythm. I've had him 8 months now and still having difficulties cantering.

im a beginner for the most part. i have no idea what a horse is supposed to look like when they move and my untrained eye cannot see the differences in her movement. could you make a video on this, maybe (what a horse is supposed to look like and what a rider can do to achieve that)?

Can you do a video on collection exercises
@virtualselfie68994 жыл бұрын
Always informative videos; like the way you emphasize soft and loose reins for Aileen, your OTTB mare. Could you or someone in the room explain what "hollowing out" is. I don't know that much about horse muscles and reactions after they go OT and can then be used as canter ponies at the track.

@peacelovechocolate The best explanation I've seen. Love your online name, too. Thank you, Peace Love Chocolate You explain as detailed as Shelby. Very informative. I always bend at the knee when I lift, so I get what you're saying.

I've never heard the term "hiding from the bit", is this just a term to describe a horse who doesn't go into contact?
@mo0onsh0t4 жыл бұрын
I think so!
@rosslyn52044 жыл бұрын
It means when you put them in the contact they don’t reach out and down for the bit, but rather they curl more towards their chest and get behind the vertical.
