The lady officer is absolutely correct. You cannot barge into someone's residence with your demands. The officer serves the state, he/she is not a servant of protesters that whenever they want they can disrupt him/her. You need to set up a meeting at the office. This old guy thinks he is so important that everyone will pay attention whenever he walks into some place. Glad to see that the lady proved him wrong. This ex- Governor was once a Commissioner of Police , Delhi , notorious for publicy insulting his officers , would keep his two step juniors waiting outside his office chamber for hours while his constable orderlies would puff biddies on their face. In the year 1983 , due to past grudge , he kept me waiting outside his office chamber for the fault of my inspector for nine hours and in the evening conveyed through his beedi puffing orderly constable to come next day morning. He had his bunglow at 28 , Akbar Road , very close to Vice - President's bunglow in Lutyens Delhi , the elite residential area of elite political and executive , where no other IPS officer of his or higher seniority and grade could ever get and dream of till date - a history of sort . Visit of any public person was unthinkable and no public person was ever seen standing outside his house ; his claim of being available to public 24X7 is left to be judged by readers . He met poetic justice , when his two officers of Crime Branch killed two innocent businessmen in utterly false encounter and he was packed -off on the same day evening by prime minister . Calm and composure shown by lady IPS officer in clarifying things to such an arrogant person on unwarranted visit to her official residence is par excellence.

No don't agree, being a civil servant is not just another job where you get so much power for your luxury. As it is said, with great power comes greater responsibility. If you want to enjoy your personal space beyond your time of work you should choose other jobs, Any police officer, especially an IPS is always on duty. Crime doesn't stop happening when you are at home, you should be ready at all times of day whenever required. Work life balance in these jobs are shit and you should know about that beforehand and if you are not ready don't go for it. There are many people who are in line and not less capable who are meant for this job and ready to give their all.

Just try going inside their official residence without any connection and you will understand how they won't even let you cross a particular spot and will make you wait for hours even if they are doing nothing. And civil servants did not just choose their jobs but also worked hard for it. Like every other human being they also deserve to have a life outside work. If there are people who are ready to work 24 hours why didn't they work harder and surpass these people when they were writing exams? @ThousandsThoughts-si4mt oh the same old "doesn't know how to speak to a woman". The politician in this case has not visited the residence of the officer at an unusual hour of the day, which is clear from the fact that she is in uniform. Also if you believe in the concept of equality, there is no separate ways of speaking with a woman or a man, especially if the person is a government official.

Police station exist for reason. Go complain there. Not barge into people's home and shout at them. She is ips, not her parents, husband or kids who are private citizens. Respect their privacy. Govt bans office wrk to be taken home to discourage bribery and file tranfer to lobbies. Then who are u to say to do wrk at home? Govt pays them for office hr wrk, not 24/7. Nowhere in world police take complaints at home. Police stations are made for a reason. This uncouth jahil just wanted to show off so brought media and barged into her home, to scare her. Looks like somebody has been filing incorrect status reports with the officer leading to this situation. Five thefts in one area means the thieves too are aware of gaps of policing there. So public knows and officer is not aware. Logical someone is filing incorrect reports

Although personal space is important, the result from the police is also important when the elderly have to come to her house that means He has been in the police station multiple times and nothing is done by them even after multiple complaints, this clearly shows police here are just filling duty hrs and are not serious.

True but people won't see that like in stock market common people think like retailers and not big players similarly here as well people are seeing one view, elderly person had to come to her home shows how incapable police has been

He is right. Once you're a public servant like IAS and IPS, there's nothing called personal space. You need to meet public if important matter arrives.

Senior person was respectful and had valid argument. Just because he is now a politician, people sees him wrong.

The complaint - "aapke sheher mein choriyaan ho rahi hai" didn't merit barging into her house with complainants. The retired gentleman is behaving more like a politician and less like a retired IPS. I guess the IPS officer's calm composure upset his plans of making a spectacle out of it and he had no option but to be civil in return.

he could've waited to bring these points up in the office rather than bringing a whole fucking army to her house just seems like a good way for him to get social points for his political career....only my opinion tho
