Shout out to Caitie (Ghil Dirthalen) for letting me borrow a cup of Dragon Age footage since the SSD where I previously had all my DA captures died on me. Caitie came through in the clutch! OK, corrections time: - I called Mark Darrah the executive producer for Dragon Age, but he's no longer with BioWare. He was the EP for a long time. - Pretty sure my read was all over the place and probably dropped a few syllables + had some weird inflections on this one. Once again had to record in a very short time frame after a very long work day. Doing my best! Anyway, what does everyone think? Do you want DA Legendary Edition? I really like the idea of a DA remaster, but I would LOVE a DA2 remake not changing the story but adding to gameplay and graphics, I feel like DA2 has a lot of potential and done right it could become even better than Origins. And I'd love halo content I'm a huge fan, the first videogame I ever played is halo 3.

Compared to DA:O and DA:I DA2 was a pretty short game with a very limited story. Playing it in a whole trilogy playthrough allways felt more like an intermezzo. I agree, it can be a lot better than it is but I highly doubt it would ever shine above the other two entries.

For me, DA2's biggest problem was it's dungeon maps. It didn't even try to hide the fact that it recycled maps and just opened certain areas while closing others. If they could fix that, I'd have a much better experience!

DA2 is a great game in its own way, I don't think it deserves the hate it gets, it has great characters, story and gameplay, but even with the changes you mention, it won't be better than Origins, that's for sure.

The DA trilogy are the only games I am able to actual play beginning to end. I have played them multiple times and never get bored. All the characters are memorable. You love them or you hate them but you never forget them. I would 100% pay for a legendary edition.

God I’d love a package of DAO, DAOA and DA2. There is so much than could be done with these games just by the small improvements you’ve mentioned. I’d specifically love to see DA2 with some environmental updates and combat rebalancing. I think it would be interesting if DA2 put a hot second into the tutorial (or something) to make cross-class combos stand out to people, because I think a lot who only fire it up on normal miss how effective and (imo) cool that mechanic is entirely.

This was the first game I played by Bioware and is my favorite by far. Its always funny to see how the creative directors skirt around anything that has to do with the Warden in new games even though its one of the most requested things. We want to either see or hear more about the character who most OGs of the series spent the most time with lol.

if they ever get around to it, i hope they incorporate some sort of aging in characters' appearances in dragon age 2. if Hawke can change his look, his crew and his family should too. they live in kirkwall nearly a decade and it simply doesn't feel that way with everyone looking the same. i mean Anders' hairline couldn't have always been unforgiving HAHAHAHA

I "recently" played Dragon Age Origins for the first time and I definitely think it needs a remake. Disclaimer: I loved it's linear story, the details, the atmosphere and the fact that the origin stories returned in the main plot, in a way or another, is definitely genius level of writing. I don't know if people would agree but I'd love if they included the voice actors for the Warden. I know Dragon Age 2 is not that loved by fans but Hawke had plenty of "cinematographic scenes" and I was a lot more involved in the story. Most of the dialogues in Origins consist in a character talking and the Warden reaction, since they never speak, it's rarely showed. This is why I never felt involved in romances. I have the clips of 3/4 of romances and except for the "romance scene" and few kisses it's basically your LI talking for 30 minutes straight. (I still need to romance Alistair tho). Luckily, this was fixed in Dragon Age 2.

Dragon age 2 is my absolute favorite. I would love for them to improve combat/graphics but leave the story as it is (honestly it's absolute strongest point) been replaying the entire series so far and gosh. Dragon age as a franchise deserves so much more. So so so much more.

Oh man this makes me optimistic. I would LOVE a remaster of DAO and DA2 but I just didn't think it was in the cards. A heavily-modded DA2 playthrough was all it took to catapult that game from "I deeply regret my preorder" to "Dang my only real complaint is that there isn't more of it." Well, that and probably just the passage of time. Plus, I miss my true Arcane Warrior spec. Knight Enchanter is cool in its own right but just not the same (I get why, it's because Arcane Warrior is broken AF but... I don't care, I liked getting to wear the Warden armor from the Warden's Keep DLC on my mage).

DAO and DA2 aren't merely made on different engine than DAI, but different from each other and both are in-house engines that were not developed on since last DLC's were made for each game. MELE was possible because all 3 games were on Unreal Engine 3, a widely used engine that was being updated until like 2014, if I recall well. And MELE was developed by both Bioware and multiple 3rd party studios with heavy experience with UE3. Remasters of DAO and DA2 are not possible, remakes are more likely as we see with KotOR. But that would require for BioWare to allow 3rd party studio to use their IP for remake. Star Wars isn't their IP, but Dragon Age is.

I've listened to Split the Veil for awhile and if always miffed me as to why Catie didn't seem as interested in a remaster of the original game when it's so freaking good. Like, yeah moving forward in a story should always be the goal, but in cases such as my own... I didn't have a lot of time where I felt like I was enjoying Origins due to the memory leak and crashing coupled with having to not just restart the game, but restart my computer. While it wasn't the majority of my play time- it was immersion breaking at it's foundation. Dialogue would be cut and because the auto-save was at the start, I'm forced to run the gauntlet to Branka and legit skip half of her lines because I've already heard them. I would 110% support a remaster of Origins, even DA2 which I feel was weakened primarily by the repetitive dungeons from a lack of time to create more. Plus it would give reason to make changes to the story that are retconned or even just well, comedic when they weren't supposed to be. And if the OG's don't want the remaster, they don't have to get it. It's a win win scenario that could reignite and interest in Dragon Age which has not had a murky future like that of Mass Effect. And, if they can make a Mass Effect 4- this is by far the BEST time to do a remaster on Origins and give the team on DA4 breathing room to take their time, and hopefully take some notes from the legacy before them.

As soon as I saw ME:L I knew they would go the same route with DA. However, I'd rather see them remake those games on the new engines they're using for ME/DA4. Since the new assets are being designed/developed anyway - you could hit two birds with one stone and you'd also be able to retcon/streamline any new facts and lore you either glossed over or phased out. You could also expand upon the lore in the previous game to set up new story lines.

I mean, I played it when it first came out and I still come back to try new crap I haven’t done before all these years later. That said, it really doesn’t look good even when comparing it to 2009 games. I forget sometimes it came out after ME1

Origins is my favorite rpg of all time. There are so many cool elements in the game! (The joining, The lady of the forest, When you go to the temple of sacred ashes and meet the vision of a person you left behind, *BASICALLY THE WHOLE BATTLE OF DENERIM* etc.) With todays graphics it would be amazing. The hero of ferelden is my favorite protagonist and I'm still angry at BioWare for just deleting her from the universe. The least they could do is a remaster honestly.

I definitely want a Legendary Edition for DA, and I think your idea of having it focus on DAO/A and DAII is a good one. There's still a lot of DAO's DNA in DAII, and I think they'd pair well together as a set. Inquisition honestly feels pretty different in terms of gameplay from the two of them in ways that say, ME1 and ME3 don't, so it'd feel like a more coherent package to stick to the first two games. That said, I could see them including DAI anyway since that makes it a more attractive release in the lead-up to DA4. If we *do* see Inquisition included in a hypothetical Legendary Edition, I wonder if they could do anything to make imported World States a little easier, since the Keep has always had some finnicky stuff to it.

I don't think Inquisition would be included simply because the game is available on PS4 and as a result for PS5. There is no need to make an enhanced edition of that game.

I get the feeling we will get a dragon age remaster but not for a while, currently, DA4 is one of their primary and major projects, however once DA4 is released I highly doubt they'd just remaster the whole series immediately after releasing DA4 so if we are to get one, it'll probably be a long time later perhaps after the next ME game. As much as I'd love DALE we definitely aren't going to get it any time soon

If they remade or even just "remastered" Dragon Age/Awakening (ALL DLC), Dragon Age 2 (ALL DLC).........I for one would turn in my "Xbox 360" copies that I still have by the way (because I love the games) but, absolutely hate having to deal with backwards compatability blah blah blah (sometimes, I just want to play offline) can't do that with those games.........if they "remastered" them along with all the lovely DLC I would rebuy them in a heartbeat (no question) that's a no brainer man........they are some of my all time favorite games. Witcher 3, Fable 1-3, Dragon Age 1-3, Kingdoms of Amalur, Skyrim.......see a patteren here, lol. I love my RPG.........if the could do a World of WarCraft on console and do it right (not just an online only version) I would play that too, lol......anyway, I'm off topic......point is I agree with you, they should totally at the very least remaster the Dragon Age games so that we the fans can play them again (Mass Effects success) shows it to be a good idea and a good latereal move, money well spent on there end because we the fans are literealy asking for it.........If it dropped tomorrow, I'd be at GameStop buying it and playing it within an hour, lol 🤑🤪

Graphical refresh and asset refresh it would be nice to get to wear the Grey Warden Armor in the trailers the same armor you see in the second and third game it would be nice to see ferelden Nobles and peasants wear the same outfit you see an Inquisition it would be nice for stand to have the basic shape qunari from Inquisition but still be hornless it would be nice if unique swords and weapons did not look like the regular stock weapons that you can and it would be nice have a female or male voice actor come in and do the dialog for the main character other than that I never had an issue with the gameplay watching my high-level character perform cool unique fighting moves that you cannot do in the other 2 games

I have DAO modded with about 100+ mods and in 4K and honestly it's one of the best games of all time especially modded. The game has 1000+ hours of fan made content including dozens and dozens of community made adventures.

Really wouldn't be much of a stretch for Bioware to do this. After the success of MELE I don't see why they couldn't do it. At the end of the day fans get content they enjoy and Bioware make easy bank, it's a win win.

They could easily just release patches to enhance Origins, 2, and all DLC. But whatever they do, they need to fix any and all storyline errors. The one that irritated me the most was the prince-consort error. Certain texts and dialogues refer to my Cousland as prince-consort, while other texts and dialogues call him a king or ruler. BioWare should do away with all prince-consort references, since the Cousland obviously declares himself a joint-ruler with Anora at the Landsmeet. This should also extend to Anora's surname in Inquisition, which is always displayed as Theirin even if married to a Cousland. Though there are some errors I wouldn't watch patched out, such as my Amell's ability to romance Morrigan and Leliana at the same time. I say just leave things the way they are and release optional graphical updates, or just leave it to the modder community to enhance things. I would prefer BioWare focus on bringing the Hero back for a cameo appearance in DA4, and full involvement in DA5.

My boyfriend had to really convince me to play origins (I was 15 maybe 16) because at the time I was too snobby about game graphics and I had no experience playing video games with the mechanics the game has so I really didn't get to appreciate how wonderful the game actually is. I can now, DA is truly my favorite game series ever. Hell even my favorite character is from the first game. But I know a lot of people are not going to give the series a chance for the same reason i almost didn't. So I think Bioware would absolutely benefit from remastering the series. They could add things they always wanted to, fix the problems da2 had because of time constraint, and they will get more of a audience for Da4.

Why not just take an upscaled version of the graphics engine from the most recent game (DA:I) including character models and texture mappings and put it onto the first two games? The possibility of them messing up Dragon Age Origins in some way or another by doing a remaster scares the absolute Hell out of me because it’s my favorite game of all time, with the modding community always adding in more cutscenes, new weps/armor, and such it’s remained that way even after all these years, but a remaster for Dragon Age 2 I’d love to see. I’ve always hated the overtly cartoonish look to the NPCs, and personally preferred the graphic style of Origins instead of that. Not to mention the only decent looking armor IS the champion armor imo. I mean, I know with a remaster they’d likely only tweak the graphics and possibly smooth out/update the combat style like they did with MELE, but the fact Jack is now blonde, Miranda has black hair, and Conrad aged sixty years by ME3 has me eyeballing them at the mention of possible remaster😕 I’ve never been able to forgive or forget what they did to the look of the mabari and Zevran in the later games.

Origins remaster/remake would bring lots of new people to the franchise but I don't think it is technically possible without sinking a lot of budget. EA's strategy is releasing remasters as low cost as possible and hope nostalgia will make people buy. Sorry for the broken English my mind stopped working.

And for Dragon Age 2 the most requested fix of all time fixing default Hawk pointy beard Jesus it's a wonder she managed to make it from ferelden to the free marches that beard has the potential to sink ships

I hope it happens. I only got into this games ful lforce was never able to finish them in the past so im holding off and i was happy i did with mass effect because oh man the legendary edition looks beautiful

In different of many others out there Origins was not my first Dragon Age. In fact I started with 2 then Inquisition and just played Origins at last, maybe hat's why I have not THat much of fond memorys to it and don't play it more often. The graphics and animations sure are one reason. With better graphics I would love to play it again. Dragon Age Remaster would be awesome.

This needs to happen. I've loved Mass Effect almost since the beginning, but I've slept on Dragon Age for far too long and two of my best friends are big fans of it as well as Mass Effect. I've started DA:O twice, but both times I got really turned off by how dated it looked and felt, and I personally thought even ME1 played better even though it released two years prior (which is crazy). It also doesn't help that I grew up a big sci-fi fan while the fantasy genre never appealed to me much, with rare exception. When Inquisition came out, I played just a bit of that too, but I never got far and I haven't touched it since. With the release of MELE, I thought it might be about time to give its sister series another fair shake, since there are three whole games that I know very, VERY little about, and it might be a good way to stave off my thirst for the next Mass Effect game. I actually browsed through the DA:O DLC on the Xbox digital store the other day and had no idea what all I was looking at, I just saw a bunch of random titles that didn't mean anything to me and I don't even know what was story DLC or otherwise lol. I don't even really know how I should get started on the first game, so I think a Dragon Age Legendary Edition would help me tremendously.

My odd advice would be if you really can't get into it try Dragon Age 2. While it gets a lot of hate it actually feels a lot more like Mass Effect and that familiarity might help. An added benefit is if you end up enjoying the world and story of 2 those things are vastly superior in the original so going back you'll have that to look forward to.

I dont see why it cant/wont ME legendary snuck up on us and that proved to be a huge win that ppl are goin back to andromeda and giving it a retry so hopefully this is inthe works too

What Dragon Age needs is for DA 4 to give you a story/game to the level of DA:O, but with today’s graphics. But that won’t happen. Thanks a lot BioWare.
