Personally whenever I read from a textbook I feel like I learn better because it helps me focus. It also kind of turns it into a narrative of sorts that helps me remember. I still do flash cards alongside it but reading from a textbook can still be very helpful I think. May not work for everyone

you're totally right, i definitely could have worded that tip better since i know everyone studies and learns differently! a lot of TBs have definitely been a life saver when my prof isn't great, but i do find that math TBs in particular are very hard reads

This was super helpful, I am in my cramming era as well! Thank you for the tips, and including all types so it would be helpful for everyone. Here are some notes I took- GENERAL EXAM TIPS 1. Know your syllabus, exam type, questions. (High weightage topics) 2. Get guidance from students who have taken the exam before you (here she's mentioned - Rate my Prof. For uni) 3. Don't create a day by day/ hourly schedule (unrealistic). Just have an idea of what you need to do, and an approximate deadline for it. 4. Two classes a day (better to get into the zone, it's easier) APPLICATION BASED EXAMS Chem, physics etc. Don't read the textbook, refer to other sources- peers, yt( specific topic), skillshare (sponsor). Lec slides brief (read), practice questions. Reference/ Cheat sheet Don't do the mock practice exam till you review your notes. MEMORISATION BASED EXAMS Skim all the content General time for each lecture Active recall (flashcards- Knowt> Quizlet) Night before- stories, mnemonics, association ones, abbreviations (chatgpt helps) Record yourself explaining an imp topic/ saying a question. Listen to it while walking. Can do this in gym too. (Mind palace) WRITTEN EXAMS Sparknotes/ chatgpt for summary, main themes, concepts. Review main themes+ concepts, feedback on past assignments, structure, grammar, key lessons+ themes. Know how professors think and how they mark. Time management- Answer every single question. Time blocking, this time on this question. For multiple choice questions Check mark- confident in your choice. ?- kinda confused * (Star)- really do not know that question.
