This was helpful because in the questions i didn't pay attention to these key words so i was writing different things for different questions, Thank you

Hi there, what about the command word "discuss"? Would you say it is a bit like evaluate?
@MrMurrayBiology
@MrMurrayBiology 2 жыл бұрын
It can be but it’s often more of an explain… for example “discuss the implications of the over use of antibiotics”

Thank you so so much sir. I just have a question, What would be the best way to revise for biology in your opinion?
@MrMurrayBiology
@MrMurrayBiology 3 жыл бұрын
I’d say divide your revision up into two main phases. First learn the content for a module or topic really well. Then do practice questions on that topic. Making a glossary is also a good idea for Biology

@@MrMurrayBiology Hi Sir, would it be effective if I make my own questions on Notion to test my knowledge every once and then?
@MrMurrayBiology
@MrMurrayBiology 2 жыл бұрын
@@Not_BhiLZA that sounds like a good idea although I haven’t used it much myself. If you make your own questions using a digital flash card app that tests you on things you know the least it is most effective. You could try brainscape or anchor

Sir, one question said, suggest why non-coding regions of DNA show more variation than coding? What would you say?
@MrMurrayBiology
@MrMurrayBiology 2 жыл бұрын
Mutations in non coding regions aren’t subject to the same selective pressure (basically a mutation there probably won’t cause a harmful effect and therefore kill the organism)

@@MrMurrayBiology Thank you Very much sir . Another fill in the blanks question said There's a new strain of bacteria created using artificial genome. However, the classification of this organism is problematic because the basis of classification is phylogeny. How is phylogeny problematic? (Phylogeny was the word asked) Thank you for your time sir. Really appreciate it!

@@malanhemal6574 If it helps, I'd say the answer is that because phylogeny is based on evolutionary relationships right, so therefore artificially created 'strains of bacteria' dont fit on phylogenetic trees because they don't have a common ancestor. The problem is that phylogeny doesn't represent artificial species.
