Made nothing but excuses about the pows as some sleighted justification to not help them. Another horrible judgement by Pashinyan. Eric is a national treasure. Unfortunately there arent enough like him.

Eric clearly and professionally demonstrated that Pashinyan does not represent the Armenian interests or has any will to do so in the future! It's been obvious to many Armenians living in the country and in the diaspora for a while....I really hope that he will be challenged by the members of a new opposition soon! We, as a nation, simply can not afford to have such an openly antinational politician to remain in power for long! Thank you, Eric, for yet another great analysis!

I feel SO much pain! How can such a PATRIOT and devoted person like #RoubenVardanyan be interpreted as “sent by russia”?!! The same way they could question Nubar Afeyan as “sent from US”! Why it’s not case?!! nikol should go! The country is being continuously demolished in the past 6 years with nikol. aliyev is happy with nikol and is afraid to lose him. Azeri protesters in Washington DC were praising and chanting “pashinyan”! What else do you want???

I agree with what you said about Pashinyan's remarks about Vardanyan. Moreover, it's not the time and place to question our compatriot's motives when he returned to Artsakh. I personally think that Vardanyan would undoubtedly take pro-russian position had Artsakh held and had he been in power. But that's a question for tomorrow, today we need to have him free.

Agree 💯. What is the point of having government if he is not going to protect his own citizens. No matter who they are POW's and other prisoners should be brought back home. As far as Genocidal Aliyev, he should shut his mouth. I don't know which one is worst, being a fascist genocidal like Aliyev or being an "oligarch".

Mr Hakopian, it’s pleasing to listen to you. This time I passed it, thinking it’s about shaming Mr Pashinyan again. I see that Pashinyan genuinely trying to do something , in so very hostile surrounding. And there are not only our external enemies. We have Armenian community in USA with an opinion, Russian Armenians with different agenda, local fractions against him, it looks like baiting a bear. We, Armenians , each one with our personal opinion. Funny enough , we haven’t learn from our ancient history, we can’t see clearly how the modern world works and we repeat the same mistakes all over again. Well, instead of looking for shortcomings, have we thought to unite and support our head of state,it was only few years ago people chose him democratically, over good for nothing previous ones. I see the shortcomings of our nation in the lack of patience, lack of realistic goals and lack of loyalty to our State.

I agree with most of what was said, BUT the fact that Mr. Vardanyan is in a prison in Baku doesn’t mean he is NOT a Russian operative, simply because there are at least a couple of others in the same prison (maybe even in the cell next door) that ARE for a fact Russian operatives (ex. Mr. Babayan). Just for clarity- I’m not saying he is, I am saying your argument that he isn’t is not valid. He needs to be freed and then a proper investigation needs to happen.

Either Vardanyan was delusional or a Russian project (betrayed by the Russians at the end). There is no common sense in why he would move to Stepanakert - (supposedly to help). He could be more effective by staying in Yerevan.
