@bmvwmtrl There was a bulldozer and divers on scene. I have part of the recovery effort on tape. I'm not sure what was damaged, because the original tape ends too early. I heard that the truck was running the next weekend.

To see if it floats. A lot of monster trucks do, because the tires are less dense than water. They used to even have races across lakes, back in the 80's.

This truck kicks ass. First, because its a long bed style pick up. A lot of the old school trucks were short beds for whatever reason. I miss the old school trucks too, with all of the chrome. It sucks that the truck dunked, but the tires and wheel base was way too narrow for boating. I am guessing the computer software never factored in water sports. X -D Anyways the hair stood on my neck when it dunked. Great vid, but my heart was left broken in the end. Lol

@Wyattriot77 ....I with draw my dumb ...dumb remark being that the truck slipped and at that point there was no turning back. Btw , I never built anything like that truck. Built a couple of swamp buggies with friends but nothing on that scale of course. Something of that scale is no easy or cheap task , must've had some serious coin in it.

Yes they got it out. I assume they used a crane or something, unless they were able to otherwise flip it back upright and pull it out on its wheels. Surprised there's no footage of the recovery.

It was pretty common back then to ''float'' monster trucks, and it had been done successfully by Bigfoot and probably a few others up to this point. Some trucks just weren't good floaters, apparently Excalibur couldn't do it.

That driver should have been diving to the passenger side to at least attempt to get some weight over there. He just sat there. Even after it was apparent this thing is going down, he just sat there until it was upside down.

It was more than that. The trucks that float well seem to be buoyant with the part of the tire above the rim staying above the water line. This truck just seemed to have a higher center of gravity and be heavier. He also didn't have an exhaust exit nearly high enough.
