It needs to be pointed out...that these things are used to help create firebreaks, too. Also, that what USED to happened with organic debris, is it was dozed into a big pile, sloshed with diesel fuel and burned. So for those of you that are so keen on the environment, no; no tree should go that does not have to but if they do better they are mulched than burned. For the misled who worry about CO2 being released, better one diesel machine than a crew with smoky saws, a dozer, then a bonfire. Look at it as things getting better. And maybe soon, perhaps an even better approach can be taken...like companion planting or some efficient way to harvest and reuse all the herbaceous material.

should of had this when clearing land for crops. all those wood chips flung everywhere would do wonders for the health of the soil. Amusing to see so many people complaining about the evils of this machine.... While sitting on their computers, using electricity, most likely living in a city or somewhat urban environment, utilizing the road network, utilising food made through modern farming (ie not gathering berries from nature), etc. If you find such a machine evil, and not just how the actually technology is used, you probably should stop using all of the things mentioned above.

The paradox of modern life. At first, i was shocked too by our machines. But as soon as I understood that the alternative is chain saws and fires and that land development is necessary, I found that it's a lot more acceptable.

Lots of comments about how this is wasteful. In fact, if it's left on the ground, organisms will eat it, nutrients will be distributed, and it will 'go away' naturally. If they have a method of collecting it, it can be used for LOTS of things like growing food or certain types of insulation .

why dont use the woods ???
@deniscimafincus7 жыл бұрын
Dear sir or madam, I feel I should point out that no trees are destroyed for the fun of it, most of the time the contractor extract useful wood from work places before mulching the slash and smaller bushes. The mulcher has the power to easily take down a tree but it's often used has a maintenance, finishing tool. Also it can be used to limit erosion on a hillside after a forest fire or to create firebreaks to help defend communities near forest fires. Did you know that the red cedar is killing all other plant life around it because it sucks up so much water ? invasive species removal is another useful thing our machine can do. I hope you understand the product better now! Have a nice day!

MrBarto96 burning wood is wasting it, genius. Having it decompose where the tree would have fallen is the only non-wasteful thing, actually
@johnbonjohnvi10 жыл бұрын
mr1me1317 when you burn wood you release a bunch of CO2 into the atmosphere. When it decomposes naturally, it returns vital nutrients to the ground (not "fermenting"...look up the definition of fermenting) that allow other plants to grow, animals (or humans) to eat those plants, locks in CO2, etc. If we didn't allow wood to decay, our forests would be wastelands.

Hi David! Nothing was sped up in this video! I'm guessing you are talking about the first scene ? Although we have not succeeded in duplicating that speed, the average time for a mature pine tree with a DAH-150Er is around 12 to 14 seconds. In the clip it takes 10 seconds!
