So far, this is the only one channel I've ever seen that really presents the working principles of hydraulic system of an excavator in a detailed way. Surprisingly I'm amaze about your explanation in how parts and systems work together smoothly that makes me appreciate and learned a lot that so many times I'm been searching for this kind of animation regardings to the hydrualic system working principles of an excavator but this presentation is so excellent. The only thing that I want your channel a recommendation to add more information regardings to the animation about excavator is the complete cycle of the hydraulic fluid out of the system; this followings are a missing parts from your presentation is the pressure relief valve and the return passage of the fluid back to the tank but, the rest of your presentation about the engineering marvel of an excavator is so magnifiscent. Good job and keep a good work Thanks for the knowledge.

I have also searched for a video that explains how the heck the tracks rotates on its own, being separated from the diesel engine. He did a great job explaining this. However,I have one more question; how does the excavator swing 360 degrees without twisting the hydraulic hoses connecting the tracks motor to the axial piston pumps?

This video open my mind, I thought tracks were powered directly by diesel engine, I didn't thought It was driven by complex hydraulics. Also for the excavator hand it's just some kind of archimedes principle, I was wrong here too, I din't thought this is such a complex mechanics involved. I feel sorry for my ignorance.

Operating an excavator seems like a real mental workout! 😅 It's amazing how much skill and concentration it takes to maneuver those machines effectively. Definitely not as easy as it looks! 😂💪
@utube18188 ай бұрын
Maybe the answer is as simple as it can’t keep turning beyond 360 decrees in one direction before in turns back the other way, but I’m going to ask anyway. There must be pipes and cables running from the engine compartment to the tracks, however if the entire body of the excavator can rotate 360 and keep rotating why don’t the cables and pipes get snagged up.

In the resting state, where does hydraulic oil go? Not shown on the video yet, here shows how to lift and lower. When this process stops, the pump continues, the oil circulation mechanism is at rest.
@hamstirrer68824 ай бұрын
Hydraulic oil keeps circulating as long as the engine is running. The directional/spool valves have channels in them for oil to flow when they are in the neutral position, the oil flows through without causing any movement and returns to the tank, where it is sucked up and circulates again. If the pressure gets too high such as when a hydraulic ram is held at its maximum travel, then pressure is diverted around the ram via pressure releif valves, and returns to tank. If the engine stops, the pump stops and oil stops circulating, usually staying where it was when the engine was running ( depending on gravity/what pressure it was under) This is a simplified explanation of course, some systems use variable displacement pumps that are constantly turning, but dont actually apply pressure until there is a demand on the system from the controls. This is known as closed vs open loop in hydraulics if you want to research it further, there is also a great channel on here called I think lunchbox sessions who do a whole load of videos on hydraulics if you're interested 😁
