Don't use IF, use VLOOKUP. Thank you for your clear and understandable explanations. I used the Function Argument Box and I didn't have to manually type in the " and so on (hope this was ok). My understanding of the Logical Test was way off! Even the value_if_true, etc., had me confused. Not now! You helped me understand the purpose of the Logical Test and the IF Function. I now not only understand "how" to do a step, but also the "why" I should do it. This knowledge makes a world of difference when you know the "whys". I am a Subscriber!

Without more detail about your setup, I am not sure. But maybe, if Date-Time in A1, maybe something like this: =IF(INT(A1)=DATE(2011,1,4),value_if_true,value_if_false)

You have to put text in double quotes, like: =IF(J1>=620,"Unhealthy","Healthy") The video illustrates the concept of Double Quotes for text in the "In Balance" example.

Hi, thanks for the video. I had an experience with an equal function where I got a FALSE answer even though they have the same number, like $ 152 and $152, when I build the function =A2=B2 (for example), they gave a FALSE result, do you know why, and how to solve the problem if the data set are large, thanks.

It is really interesting to see just how much boolean logic appears in computational logic. I didn't think boolean was that big of a deal when I was originally learning about it. But the more I look around with computer science, the more I see it everywhere. Granted, this is true for programming in general so it is understandable. But still.

This sort of formatting mistake happens all the time to people. The point of this was to see that formatting can hide decimals, but the formula will always find that mistake!
