I have one data sheet 1 that contains the one numbers/Name repeat with different values/Qty in one Excel sheet . In another Excel sheet 2 only numbers/Name mention. When I use vlookup formula in sheet 2 from sheet 1 only first value repeated against all Name/numbers How to solve this error

It sounds like you are encountering an issue where the VLOOKUP formula is pulling the same value for all rows in Sheet 2, instead of giving you the corresponding value for each Name/Number. This issue typically occurs when the lookup value (the Name/Number) in Sheet 2 is matched only to the first occurrence of that Name/Number in Sheet 1.

Use INDEX-MATCH instead of VLOOKUP: A more flexible alternative is to use the INDEX and MATCH functions, which can handle duplicate entries better and give you more control. Here’s an example of how you can use INDEX and MATCH: Assume: Sheet 1 has Name/Number in Column A, and the values you want to return (e.g., Qty) are in Column B. Sheet 2 has the Name/Number you are looking up in Column A, and you want to return the Qty (or another value) in Column B. In Sheet 2, use this formula in Column B: =INDEX(Sheet1!B:B, MATCH(A2, Sheet1!A:A, 0))
