Excel - IF Date is Before or After Another Date | IF Date is Before or After Today

In this video, I demonstrate how to use dates within an IF formula. I want to be able to compare two dates to find if one date is before or after another date. I also want to be able to calculate whether a date is after or before today's date.
You can compare two dates when they are both entered into cells or when one is hard-coded into the formula. Hard-coding a date into an IF formula is not as straightforward as you might think.

OMG!!! Thank you! the info at 3:30 about how to make a specified date within an IF function (quotes and "+ 0") was EXACTLY what I needed. Now my crazy OR nested in an AND nested in an IF function works perfectly.

Sir For time comparison in a column the time format is in [H]:MM:SS and for to get results using IF function for greater than 24 hours as beyond time and less than 24 hours what formulae is to be used. Please reply sir.

Hi Chester! I am hoping you could help me here as I would need to condition cells with dates less than or equal to today's date to say "Expired" (without creating another column) and at the very same time I want to highlight yellow any cells with dates which are 4 months before today.

Great Tutorial I do need a help with a specific expression Let's say I'm trying to attain a value I.e. (Items sold before a Specific Date) But i want it to Populate as I form the list I.e 10 Hats sold before the 16th of February and if that's true I would like that to equal a value lets say 500 how would i build this so that it generates the answer as input the information.

Hi there, hope you can help. If I wanted to do exactly this, but instead of a 3rd column in your example, it overwrites the date cell. So for instance, when the deadline is overdue, it changes the date to text "'Overdue". Or if it's not, it leaves the date in place. Basically I have gone one line of information and one cell containing a date. I need to put a formula on that cell (which contains a date) to change the text to "EXPIRED" if the date in that cell equals less than today.

I found this worked for first cell but then wouldn't work with any other cells.
