WOW!!! It would be a great photo day with just "Spanish dancer" & "sailor boy". You would get a crowd by adding the rest. A unique interesting display. FUN, FUN & more FUN.

All the fame and none of the fortune. Oh, what we kite flyers must endure!

You know it’s going to be a good video when it starts out with a trilobite. The centipedes look fun. They certainly added a lot of color to the sky. Looks like a good day.

We watched the forecast like hawks, held our breath and drove over. It was one if those rare days when everything we put up stayed up. I'd like another one sometime soon. Wishing the same for you, Kenny.

Sometimes, you get those days when everything is just behaving so well and you hate to take it down. Temps are starting to warm here, so hopefully, I will be out soon. Unlike Michael, I am a wimp when it comes to the cold weather..lol.

Good to see you both having fun on a lovely day. That Spanish Dancer is one of Cherie's best projects, I think.

Hi Jim, NZ is going through it, I think. We could have gotten all three of our kinetic kites up, but about that time,the wind was starting to peak, so I left it at two. I trust you are well and getting enough to eat and sleep. We think of you and you come up in conversation often.

@@PanyingPilot Thanks, Glenn. We are not too bad, although Covid is at its peak now, but apart from going to the beach occasionally, I keep out of the way and do my best to stay safe. Four family members have the virus at the moment, and one more distant member died of it on Tuesday. It will largely burn itself out sometime, I'm sure.

Nice to see Cherie using The Crocodile Line Grip when Handling the Trilobite 10 Line, I never leave home without it, perfect as a third hand to give line slack when placing line laundry items. Hope are weather this Spring is not as temperamental as it has been in New Zealand with Jim Nicholls . Though I feel were in for a rough patch also. (Global Warming comes home to roost.) Thanks for the Display. 'The World Needs More Kites' :^{D

Raymond, good eye! Cherie is developing the skill to manage the line with the Crocodile grip. This is good since one wrist is weaker due to a fracture some time ago. So, it's working out the angles and leverages that she,,and I are getting skilled at . We generally are of the opinion that the weathermen need to make better sacrifices to the gods, or we are going to have to attend to this climate change in earnest. We appreciate your compliment and couldn't agree more. Perhaps no so surprising, several people we encountered admitted they had kites, but just didn't think to bring one out to fly. Without a kite, the beach is just a place to get sand in your shoes.

Nice display for just two people for sure, thanks for sharing! With any luck I'll have something in the air this next week and have a video out asap.

Hey Glenn. Beautiful colors in the air with a beautiful backdrop. My wife and I will be in Mill Valley in a couple weeks visiting my son. In your opinion, which beach would be better to get some parafoils in the air? Muir beach or Stinson? We're flying out from Chicago so parafoils are all we can bring on the plane without too much hassle. Thanks.
@PanyingPilot2 жыл бұрын
Hi Greg, welcome to sunny California. Stinson is a longer beach with more amenities than Muir. I would also favor Stinson because parking would be better. If you have experience anchoring off parafoils in sand, then nothing more needs to be said. Otherwise, pack or borrow some sacks for sand and bring a garden spade or small shovel. Dig your hole, fill the sack and place the filled sack in the hole after wrapping your flight line twice over the bag longitudinally over top and bottom. Also bring some lengths of flagging tape to put on the line(s) at eye level as a courtesy to beach walkers and lifeguard trucks. Shoot video and let me know when you post it, OK? I visited Chicago once by rail, then to Niagara. It brings back good memories.

@@PanyingPilot Thanks for getting back to me Glenn. I starting kiting 2 years ago after a vacation in Destin and watching and talking to some kite flyers. I've been watching Jim Nicholls down in New Zealand ever since then. What an awesome guy! My kite collection has grown because of him. Nothing to your scale or Jim's, but still a lot of fun. I've yet to film anything and put it on KZbin however. It's something I need to work on. I'll maybe check out both locations and let you know how it goes. Thanks again. Greg
