But looking at, like, Paris' version, where you're careering through physical asteroids and helixing around planets and interacting with projections... I don't know. Definitely something to that.

To REALLY appreciate it? Maybe if you mean the underlying 70s cheesiness of it. But I would say that the 6 - 10 year olds I see getting off are pretty confident they were just in space, and for the rest of us it's still a very awesome attraction. The upgrades from 2004 make it a pretty impressive modern thrill ride. The lights, the synchronized music, etc. Now, Magic Kingdom's is still very 70s (which is neither good nor bad) so for theirs yeah, that's definitely cheesy.

I went on this ride in person and I honestly felt like I was legitimate X-wing fighter pilot. The whole felt so surreal cause it was happening all around you. The fleet checking in Jumping to hyper space Taking evasive action All the lasers going off I was so caught in the moment and I love every single second about that ride. I doubt I'll be able to ride it again but the memory of it and how convincing it was that YOU were a true x-wing pilot will stick with me forever.

As someone who identifies as a Disney purist, I was really not expecting to absolutely LOVE Hyperspace Mountain as much as I did. It holds all of the elements that I love of Space Mountain and then they just make it better with the addition of Star Wars. The two were melded together so seamlessly, it makes me sad to think that it's only around for a limited time. Seriously, Disney, you crushed it with this one.

I am a huge, lifelong Star Wars fan. Seeing all of the Star Wars in Tomorrowland during my March trip and hearing the music outside almost brought me to tears lol I was a little sad before going that we wouldn't be able to go on original Space Mountain like I did as a kid but as soon as I got on Hyperspace, I was in love. This was one of the coolest things I've ever had the privilege of experiencing. Bravo, Disney. I almost kind of wish it was permanent!

Hey, technically WDW does't have an exact coaster style like this because WDW's Space Mountain is a completely different coaster style. So what if they turned to Vekoma, who made Space Mountain for Hong Kong Disney's Space Mountain (an exact clone of Disneyland's built by Vekoma instead of Dynamic Attractions), to make a permanent exact clone of Hyperspace Mountain for the new Star Wars Land opening up in Disney's Hollywood Studios at WDW in Florida? Think how awesome that would be standing next to Star Tours!

Hard to say why, and even though I love Star Wars, I am looking forward to the original Space Mountain returning at some point. I'm burnt out on the whole Star Wars and Marvel takeover of Disney.
