@@fredmorgan5387 B) WHAT ENDS A MARRIAGE COVENANT? - Death 1 Corinthians 7:39 A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord. Romans 7:1 By law a married woman is Bound to her husband As Long As He Is Alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. 3 So then, if she has sexual relations with another man WHILE HER HUSBAND IS STILL ALIVE, SHE IS CALLED AN ADULTERESS. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man 1 Corinthians 7:10 10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11 But if she does, she Must Remain Unmarried OR else Be Reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife. C) WHAT DID JESUS SAY IF YOU REMARRY?- It is adultery in present continuous tense or state of being, B/C marriage covenants are only broken by death. Luke 16:18 “Jesus said: WHOSOEVER/anyone who DIVORCES his wife and MARRIES ANOTHER another woman COMMITTITH ADULTERY, and the man who MARRIES a DIVORCED woman COMMITTITH ADULTERY.” (Greek present continuous tense or state of being = Romans 7:1) =CONSTANTLY AN ADULTERER Matthew 5:31 Jesus said, “Furthermore it has been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except fornication (porneia/sex before marriage) causes her to committith adultery (moicheia/sexual sin of married person); and whoever marries a woman who is divorced committith adultery. (Greek present continuous tense or state of being an adulterer = Romans 7:1) Matthew 19:8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were HARD. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I (Jesus) tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for fornication (porneia), and marries another woman committith adultery (moicheia).” = Romans 7:1 Divorce is for the hard hearted Jesus says, the bitter, the selfish, one in unforgiveness. Matthew 19:10 The disciples said to him, “IF SUCH IS THE CASE OF A MAN WITH HIS WIFE, IT IS BETTER NOT TO MARRY!!!!” -(This is how serious marriage is! They recognized it by their answer!) Jesus AGAIN took a much stricter line on a subject in harmony with His other answers through out scriptures. More strict than the two rabbis at that time Shammai and Hillel the strict one said divorce only for adultery. Jesus again by passed the two options as He always did and shocked people again so much so we see it in the disciples shocked response! Mark 10:5-9 5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he(Moses) wrote you this precept. 6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and CLEAVE to his wife; 8 And THEY TWAIN SHALL BE ONE FLESH:!!! SO THEN, THEY ARE NO MORE TWAIN, BUT ONE FLESH!!!! 9 WHAT THEREFORE GOD HATH JOINED TOGETHER, LET NOT MAN PUT ASUNDER!!! (Greek cannot/Not possible to do it) MARK 10:10-12 10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter. 11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. 12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.(GREEK PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE OF COMMITTING ADULTERY OR STATE BEING AN ADULTERER!! = Romans 7:1!!!!)

I understand that you feel that you are being compassionate toward those who are in this situation, one that I was also in for 15 years, but you are not telling people what they need to hear when it comes to covenants with God. Biblical grounds for remarriage after a divorce is a lie and total nonsense that is settng people up and keeping them from inheriting the kingdom of heaven. Two becomming one-flesh is more than an "intention" or "idea", but covenants with God are permanent until death. Ok...answer this...does Jesus not say in Matthew 5:32 "That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery?" What is so difficult for most people to understand about this scripture? The woman in this case is not guilty of fornication during Jewish betrothal (which is the Mosaic Law that is clearly outlined in Deuteronomy 22:13-21), but is in danger of comitting adultery with another man because she is now divorced . Any pastor or teacher should know that Matthew was written to the Jews (Romans 1:16), and is the first of the synoptic gospels with over 20 specific characteristics that speak directly to a Jewish audience. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees that were preaching like this video and who believe that hardness of hearts that caused divorce and remarriage was ok. Jesus reaffirms the one-flesh covenant when he says to the Pharisees "Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so" (Matthew 19:4-8). More proof that this video is in error is by teaching from the Old Covenant Law regarding David when Jesus addresses the Pharisees in Luke 16 as seen here: "And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery" (Luke 16:14-18). Jesus clearly is telling the Pharisees that the Law and the prophets were until John the Baptist began preaching the coming of the kingdom. Preaching on divorce and remarriage from the Old Covenant is serious error because it denies the authority of Christ through the New Covenant. This video is mocking the scriptures and scoffing at those who are following the scriptures and not man's interpretation. To further prove this is teaching falsely is that it also takes 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 out of context in an attempt to apply it to divorce and remarriage when the entire chapter of 2 Corinthians 6 is about ministry from beginning to end. What is not being made clear is that Paul already dealt with the topic of divorce and remarriage in his first letter to the Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 7 and would not have repeated this in a chapter about ministry. We need to divide the word and allow it to affirm other scriptures but some either do not yet know that 2 Corinthians 6 is speaking specifically about ministry or deliberately ignore it in order to justify remarriage after a divorce. It should be simple but we have teachers like in this video sowing confusion and preaching to itchy ears. Another proof that some are teaching falsely is by telling you that 1 Corinthians 7:15 disolves a one-flesh covenant but is not telling you that Jesus is speaking through Paul when he says "not I but the Lord" when he commands the departing spouse to "remain unmarried or else be reconciled" just four scriptures above in 1 Corinthians 7:11. This is literally attempting to teach that Paul overruled Christ and says that the brother or sister is no longer "bound", but that is not what the actual scripture says. Here is the actual scripture, "But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace" (1 Corinthians 7:15). The phrase "not under bondage" means slavery to sin against God by force with an unbelieving spouse, not a release from the one-flesh covenant as this teaching suggests. The word bondage always refers to slavery not marriage. The Word is clear. Matthew is written to the Jews first and was speaking on the Jewish betrothal found in Deuteronomy 22:13-21, and clearly proves Luke 16:16 true in John 8:11 by forgiving the adulteress. By telling her to sin no more he is telling her to repent and return to her covenant husband just as God commanded Hosea to take back Gomer. The matter of being equally yoked in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 is regarding ministry, not marriage. This is easily proven by 1 Corinthians 7:12-14 where the unbeliever accepts that the believing spouse has found faith in God but wishes to remain and not hinder their beliefs. Many also falsely use the woman at the well as an excuse to remarry but this is easily explained by Matthew 22:23-28, where Jesus is being told of a similar situation where a widow marries seven brothers, each after the previous brother dies. This both legitimizes and reaffirms the one-flesh covenant as well as the nature of Jesus's acknowledgement of the five husbands of the Samaritan woman, as well as the illegitimacy of the 6th man. If the five husbands of the woman at the well were not covenant husbands then Jesus would not have acknowledged that they were. This video is also teaching falsely when it comes to God's divorce with Israel. The reason some find it difficult to understand Jeremiah 3:1 is that they make two mistakes while reading the parable of Israel as the divorced wife. Many error by only reading half the parable. Let’s first examine this parable more closely. Jeremiah’s purpose in using this parable is two-fold. First, the prophet wishes to vividly illustrate Israel’s spiritual disloyalty to its Creator. Second, and most important, unlike the twice-estranged wife whose original husband cannot return to her, the prophet appeals to the Jewish people to repent and proclaims that it is their sacred mandate to be restored as God’s chosen people. What is impossible with the forsaken woman is the destiny for the children of Israel. Let’s look at the entire verse in context: They say, “If a man divorces his wife, and she goes from him and becomes another man’s, may he return to her again?” Would not that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the harlot with many lovers; “Yet return to Me,” says the Lord (Jeremiah 3:1). The central feature of the prophet’s exhortation that you overlooked appears at the very end of the verse, ” ‘Yet return to Me’, says the Lord.” Jeremiah makes this plea five times throughout the chapter. The message conveyed by prophet clear: The mercy and compassion of the Almighty is far beyond the scope of man’s comprehension. God has made it clear that Israel has been unfaithful but still his wife. Teaching that God has remarried the church (which is the bride of Christ, not God), who is only betrothed to Christ until the Wedding Supper of the Lamb, is uncatigorically false and presents a major conflict in scripture. By doing this you present God as a polygamist in an attempt to void all scriptures that pertain to the one-flesh covenant. Please seek the scriptures for confirmation and answers before entering into or remaining in a situation such as marriage that is not easy to repent of. God bless.

AJ Louviere Hi AJ, can you please expound on your view of Jeremiah 3? Is Israel only betrothed to Christ during this time and the marriage actually not consummated until the marriage supper of the lamb? God uses the term still married to Israel in verse 14 even AFTER He gave them a certificate of divorce in verse 8. Are these terms used “loosely” in that the Jewish culture back then basically viewed the couple as married during the espousal period but weren’t actually married legally until consummated as we would see in our day and culture? The exception is only for fornication (pornea) during the ESPOUSAL period and there are absolutely no exceptions after consummation but we are to remain single and pray for reconciliation even in cases of abuse correct?
@ajlouviere2025 жыл бұрын
@@apilkey the betrothed are the equivalent of engagements to the modern day Gentiles. They were referred to as husband and wife but not in a one-flesh covenant until consummation as written in Deuteronomy 22:13-21. Breaking a Ketubah (marriage contract) was possible if fornication (premarital sex) was committed during the time of betrothal prior to the wedding night. The Parable of the Ten Virgins offers the proper understanding of what is happening in Matthew 5, and Matthew 19.

I am resolved that "Covenant" marriage means "what God has joined together", rather than "what man has joined together." We see men of Israel divorce their pagan/foreign wives in Ezra 10 out of repentance. Just as a homosexual marriage is NOT joined by God, a believer with an unbeliever (known before the marriage vows are taken) is NOT joined by God. In a marriage joined by God, adultery is not grounds for divorce; amen. I look to Josea and Gomer as the example, an example of the betrothal of YHWH to Israel.

So let me get this straight, the One Marriage for life folks who condemn anyone who has remarried while their first spouse lives, can't even tell the difference between who's Saved and who's Professed! Among the professed who have married under the Pretense of Christianity, I'd say (by long observations) that ONLY about .00001% are actually Washed, Regenerated and renewed followers of Christ! So the One Marriage Pundits run around telling them that their divorce and remarriages are sin and they are currently in adultery and can't be Saved unless they renounce marriage altogether and live celibate, (I guess at least until the first spouse dies) What are they actually saying ... 'That the ONE unforgivable, unpardonable sin is Re-Marriage for those LOST (never saved) and those they suppose are saved' (Professed, married under pretense) In other words Mk3:28-29, is defined, the Blaspheme of the Holy Spirit, (in their minds) is Re-marriage ... applicable to every person born from the dawn of mankind! No excuses, no reprieve, without recourse ... unless your come in with a Clean marriage, remarriage, divorce slate, you cannot be pardoned because you are in a supposed perpetual state of adultery. So instead of the Bible saying 'What must I do to be Saved', Repent and believe, Acts3:38, must be re-defined into .... FIRST separate from any remarriage situation and then come back later, let us check out that you've done so, and THEN we'll pronounce you Saved! Where Does it say this in the Book of Acts ... or the Words of Christ, or can it be found any of the Apostles doing this... checking out everyone's past life in the marriage, re-marriage department BEFORE they would bring them into the fold? I Can't find it ... ONLY by Presumption (as with all doctrines of demons) can it be assumed (or implied) that all the people who came to Christ previously divorced and currently in re-married situation, were told they had to dissolve their relationships or be disqualified. If something this important, on which eternity hangs, was so, that you CANNOT be Saved if in a re-marriage .... WHY wasn't it made CRYSTAL Clear by Jesus Himself, especially to the woman at the well who was in such danger ... and then Repeated time and again in Scripture, like so many other fundamental truths. Would something like this be left up for grabs, subject to the interpretations of carnal men who can't tell the difference between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him! I Don't think so and I also think that those of out there taking the supposed Moral high-ground against folks who messed up in marriage, and you didn't, are hypocrites of the highest order and know nothing of the Covenant and Mercy extended to all sinners who will repent, be purified by faith working by love and then serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear ... not in a never ending cycle (revolving door) of sin confess, claiming 1John1:9 advocacy with the Father for your ongoing rebellion, as most of you teach is the abiding state of Salvation. Wake up and stop beating the air, there are many Strongholds you can pull down with Purpose and genuinely help people. Do so before you are condemned by your own words, remember the Letter kills its the Spirit that gives life.

***** No, in your new age bible the word whoredom is used. The terms adulery fornication, and uncleanness are used and they have very specific meanings. Look up ketubah, you speak without knowledge. What you call divorce is the breaking of the contract before it is fulfilled. That "divorce" is legal, but after the contract is complete no divorce is Biblical. I have not ignored the scriptures you cherry pick, you just choose to ignore the whole passage to justify your love of carnal sin. 1 Cor 7:16 clearly shows that allowing them to leave is not divorce as you may still win them to Yeshua. You can fool yourself all you want but the Lord will still judge you before the white throne. You follow your own will, and create your own god based on your desires, not on scriptures.

***** I don't need to know a child of darkness to know whom they serve. You cherry pick verses and use them out of context to justify divorce. To let a spouse leave is seperation, not divorce. YS: When you say 'separation is not divorce', how do you know? I mean, according to Jesus (quoting Genesis) marriage is the joining together of a man and a woman 'as one flesh'. This is a state that apparently can be 'torn asunder' since we are commanded by Jesus not to do that. So how do you know that when spouses are separated, this is not 'divorce', as in the sense of no longer being 'one flesh'?

1 cor 7:25-38 is got the betrothed. They are free to marry. This is not condoning remarriage as it would contradict other scriptures like Luke 16:18 and Mark 10:11, that forbid it as adultery (apart from the exception in matt 5:32 and 19:9). 1 cor 7:29-40 is directed to the widow who is free from the law of her husband and can remarry also see romans 7:1-3. We don't get to choose the exception for remarriage--- only God does. It is unfortunate that some people were messed up because of the hardness of another's heart or their own ignorance. But singleness is heralded by Paul as a preferred condition in order to singlemindedly serve god 1 cor 7: 32-35. It's true that it's harder for some than for others, but we have to buffet our bodies if our hand or eye offends us, because hell is a reality much worse than singleness.

I accept that you have, but I've not personally heard any "one marriage for life" teacher isolate adultery by remarriage from murder, fornication, drunkenness, etc as the one sin that would disqualify them from heaven. My question about this matter is, Can someone retain the fruit of their previous sin and still be repentant? Wasn't Zaccheus declared saved only after he divested himself of his gain by greed and fraud?
@DanielBjorndahl6 жыл бұрын
really good question. there are rules in the Torah for restitution of stolen goods and I can only assume Zaccheus had followed them to the best of his knowledge. However a marriage is a joining of two fleshes into one flesh, so there's not a restitution which could be made. In God's eyes there is only one new being (which superficially appears to be a man and a woman). To severe this being in half would perhaps be to do violence against God's image. Or to do violence against the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Good and valid point. If your status is divorced as an unbeliever, it will still be divorced as a believer.

@@DanielBjorndahl Sorry just saw your reply. "However a marriage is a joining of two fleshes into one flesh ..." For the original marriage, yes. That's the one God joins. He would not join a union he condemns. There would have to be a death in the first one to divinely join the second per the apostle. "... so there's not a restitution which could be made." The naming of second marriage adultery means it's an unlawful joining. The original parties must be still married in God's eyes, therefore the second one must be abandoned to give opportunity for the first one to be restored even if it is not likely. "To severe this being in half would perhaps be to do violence against God's image. Or to do violence against the temple of the Holy Spirit." "He that joins to a prostitute is one body with her," yet it must be severed due to its offense. The second spouse after a divorce is an interloper in the original marriage. That is also an offense. He or she is committing theft of a neighbor's property. Release of the stolen spouse is required for righteousness.

The divorce and remarriage for adultery doctrine is based solely on the supposed guilt of the wife in Matthew 5:32, and Matthew 19:9. However, the wife in Matthew 5:31-32 is clearly not guilty of fornication because the Jews that Jesus was speaking to were still living under the law, and if fornication was discovered, there was a moral obligation to report the offender according to Deuteronomy 22:13-24. The wife, who would have been found guilty of fornication, was subsequently stoned to death, according to the law, which had still governed the Jews up until Christ's death on the cross. The same for a woman caught in adultery, according to Leviticus 20:10. How could a wife, guilty of fornication, or adultery, under the law of Moses, be given a writing of divorcement and be caused to commit adultery with whosoever marries her, that is divorced? Jesus is clear, in these examples, that the wife is not guilty of fornication, but is still caused to commit adultery if she marries another man now that she is divorced. This is the only way that Matthew 5:31-32, and Matthew 19:9 keep harmony with Romans 7:2-3, and 1 Corinthians 7:39. Please use wisdom when living in any situation against what the scriptures command. The ancient Jews called the betrothed (engaged) "husband" and "wife" according to Deuteronomy 22:23-24, Matthew 1:18-25, and Luke 2:5-7. Deuteronomy 24:1-4 (Moses's precept of divorce and remarriage) was never for fornication or adultery. Allowing those guilty of fornication and adultery to remain living and become a prospect for remarriage was against the law of Moses in Deuteronomy 22:13-24 and Leviticus 20:10, which commanded that those who were found guilty of fornication and adultery be put away from Israel, and stoned to death. The law of Moses was not given to the world, only to the Jews. From the exodus, to Christ's death on the cross, the law of Moses governed the Jewish people. But when Jesus died on the cross, he caused the Jews to be dead to the law of Moses so they could be joined to Christ under a New Covenant. This is what Jesus's fulfillment of the law of Moses, including Deuteronomy 24:1-4 (Moses's precept of divorce and remarriage), means. Paul gave several warnings to Christian believers against keeping the law of Moses over following Christ and his commands under the New Covenant with Christ. Keeping the whole law is no longer possible for those in Israel and that is why Christ prophesied that the temple would be destroyed. These scriptures make it clear that if you choose the law over Christ, that you must keep the whole law: Romans 7:4, Galatians 3:1-9, Galatians 3:10-29, Galatians 4:1-7, Galatians 4:21-31, and Galatians 5:1-15. The phrase "sexual immorality" being used in Matthew 5:32 and Matthew 19:9, in place of "fornication", creates conflict with what is written about fornication and adultery in Hosea 4:13-14, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and Galatians 5:19-21. Being unequally yoked to unbelievers is not a cause for divorce, once two become one-flesh in a covenant of marriage, according to 1 Corinthians 7:12-14. Many one-flesh covenant marriages between unbelievers are recognized by God in the scriptures, most notably the marriage covenants between Herodias and King Herod's brother Philip, Potiphar and his wife, Ahab and Jezebel, and Ruth to her deceased husband Mahlon by Boaz when he took her to be his wife. Some are teaching that 1 Corinthians 7:15 implies that those who are abandoned by the unbeliever, are "no longer bound" in a one-flesh covenant of marriage. The reason this is in conflict is due to the way they word it, which gives it an entirely different meaning, and context. 1 Corinthians 7:15, says, "15But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace." As you can see, the actual scripture says "not under bondage," which means that the husband or wife is not enslaved to sin with the unbelieving spouse, and is free to worship Christ in peace. Subsequent translations have changed the words to imply that they nullify the marriage covenant, when this is not at all the case. The issue that this creates is with 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, which says, "10And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife." As you can see, those who claim 1 Corinthians 7:15 has the Apostle Paul giving permission to remarry do not understand that the abandoned husband in 1 Corinthians 7:11 is expected to also remain unmarried, in order to be reconciled with his wife. The theory that 1 Corinthians 7:15 nullifies two as being one-flesh in marriage puts the Apostle Paul directly at odds with Christ, by implying that he has issued an opposing command. Some also teach that 1 Corinthians 7:27-28 is referring to both divorced men, and virgin women, and not exclusively to men and women (virgins) who have never been married. This has been falsely taught for some time in churches as referring to anyone who is not currently in a marriage, which, for them, also includes those who are divorced. This is a very false assumption, and puts these verses in a different context, that is at odds with both the teachings of Christ and the apostle Paul. We see Paul refer to virgins, which signifies the unmarried who have never before been wed, which is the proper context here. We see Paul saying clearly that it is good for virgins, which is also speaking to never before wed men here, "that it is good for a man so to be." He goes on to say, "Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife." Who is he referring to here? Men who, like himself, have never married. The word "bound", in these verses, is a clear reference to betrothal (engagement) and not to a one-flesh covenant of marriage. The ancient Jews were considered bound as husband and wife during the betrothal (espousal/engagement) before becoming one-flesh in a covenant of marriage, through consummation. This is affirmed by the context of the term "bound" seen in Numbers 30:14-16. The Jewish couples in ancient Israel, who were betrothed (engaged) were also bound together until death, either by execution for fornication, or by other causes. Then Paul says, "But and if thou marry, thou has not sinned", which is who? The men who had never married in the congregation at Corinth. So he begins with verses 25-26 speaking exclusively to men that have never married. Paul then says, "and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned", which is speaking directly about virgin women who have never been married, within the congregation, not divorced women. Notice that verse 34 says, "There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband." Paul speaks plainly when he says "there is a difference between a wife and a virgin." Paul goes on to say, "But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry." This is speaking of a father with a virgin daughter who has become of age to bear children when it says, "let them marry." This is a clear command to a third party, the father, and not a divorced man who has taken a virgin to be his wife. Paul then says, "Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well." This is referring again to the father who decides it is better for his daughter not to marry, but to stay betrothed (engaged), under the present distress, by saying that he "hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin." Paul then says, "So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better", which means that fathers of virgin daughters in the congregation do well if they choose to allow their betrothed virgin to marry, and fathers, who choose not to allow their virgin daughters to marry do better, under the current climate. For more proper context of the word "bound", let's look further down in this chapter to verse 39, which says, "39The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 7:39). For so long, these scriptures, between verses 25-38, have been twisted and used to enable divorce and remarriage, by wayward churches and teachers, and have caused many to stumble and to be trapped in unlawful unions. The use of the woman at the well, in regard to marriage, falsely implies that Christ was endorsing remarriage after a divorce. This teaching is in defiance of Matthew 22:23-28, which shows a woman who had been widowed seven times, and entered into each subsequent marriage without any scriptural conflicts with God's law of marriage (one-flesh covenant) seen in Genesis 2:23-24. Mark 10:1-12 is the same biblical record of Matthew 19:1-12, which both record Christ's teaching that day beyond the Jordan. There is no mention of the words "fornication", "writing of divorcement", or "divorced" in Mark's Gospel, because Mark was not written to the Jews (as Matthew's Gospel was), but to evangelize the Romans and Greeks, who had no knowledge of the law in Deuteronomy 22 or Deuteronomy 24. All of these facts draw a clear understanding that remarriage after a divorce, under the New Covenant with Christ, is a scripturally false and baseless teaching.

So theologians? If you remarry in adultery then every time you have sexual intercourse with your new spouse you commit the act of adultery. You cannot be forgiven until you stop committing the act of adultery. There are no ways around that. God does not sanctify an adulterous marriage. Even if you have children in that marriage it does not absolve you of adultery every night you have sexual intercourse with your spouse from your adulterous marriage. On the other hand, if you remarried after a divorce because of your first spouse committing adultery against you or because you were a believer married to an unbeliever and the unbeliever did not want to stay, then you do not commit adultery. That marriage is blessed by God.

This goes hand in hand with (Matthew 5: 27,28) But (a pair of) true christians won't ever divorce because they would live in an unity that is above the nature, having the law written in their hearts and living in unity with God too. So what are we going to do, live by the way of the flesh and submiting to law, or raise above it and live by the way of the Spirit? I know I wasn't able to do that (yet), I wonder if I ever will be.

@@brothacarllovesjesus it depends whether or not the marriage is in agreement with God's will. Ending a marriage is indeed adultery except of it was Ended through adultery. We reject the masoerotic Text BTW. Nowhere do we see the permission in scripture for a divorced man to return to his adulterous wife. Also, if the world calls it a marriage, then it is not enough for God to call it one. When I became a genuine believer at age 24, and got rid of my movies and music, I asked the Lord if I am supposed to remain with my wife. He did say yes, and so I did, because he saw the marriage as acceptable. When we are looking for a wife, we are to trust the Lord Jesus Christ to find it, not our own flesh. I know a brother Who was married to a wiccan Who refused to repent and even got engaged into sexual sins. I sadly have told him to remain with her, but God rebuked me over this and I had to repent. God also divorced Israel and when Jesus said that sexual sins were the exception, he meant it. God's covenant with us is not unconditional either, as you have stated. I had no option and in Washington State we have a 'no fault' clause for divorce that implies all can get divorced for any and every reason. I had no choice, so am I expected by God to remain single? Even if a god fearing women wishes to court I wish to court her?

While in the beginning God's pattern for marriage was that it would be permanent but then sin entered the world and as we go into the old testament and even Jesus quoted that in the beginning it was God's design that it would be permanent but because of man's heart hardening people did get divorced. I am familiar with all the NT passages myself being a pastor of a church for many years and a Christian of 50 years this teacher does misquote some things e.g 1 Corinthians 7 where Paul has been asked a simple question which was asked by new Christians. They asked Paul if it was still ok to be married to an unbeliever or would God now want them to separate. Paul said no stay with it for the reasons that he explained. Sadly many preachers use this passage as an answer for all types of marriage and divorce situations but it can not be used in such a way. Here is not the time for a big teaching but nearly every video I watch on this teaching many even go on to say that if you got married again then you are an adulterer and the marriage should cease. Jesus was asked if a man can put away his wife for "any" reason, any being an important word here where Jesus goes on to refer to God's original intention before sin. Jesus said that adultery would allow a man or woman to divorce. We see King David commit adultery and God forgives him and we see many Christians divorce because sometimes people just don't get on with each other and the marriage fails. When two Christians separate it is a sinful deed just like any sin being no more or less than any sinful deed. When we are saved our sinful nature is changed and we have a new nature but we are still going to do at times a sinful deed and miss the mark because we are still in the flesh. God knows this and the bible says that when we miss the mark that God is faithful and just to forgive our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This is the one truth that ALL these preachers fail to comfort the saints with that God forgives and when he does we are free to move on and marry again. Many preachers just make these laws and many now live confused about what God thinks and many left violent marriages or marriages that were so horrific that they could not stay. Does God then punish you for the rest of your life and make you live alone when he knows that he meets every human need through your husband or wife. No, no ,no, God is a God who forgives and allows us to move on but many say no he doesn't forgive divorce. Well then God doesn't forgive any sinful deed then. No God forgives and if you are reading this looking for answers because you are remarried or divorced know that God didn't want you to fail but if you confess to God that you missed the mark ( sinned) he is faithful to forgive and don't let anyone tell you otherwise because God's word is the authority and God forgives. Deuteronomy 24 states that one is not to go back and remarry a previous spouse which shows that this what is taught is false because God does not contradict himself ever.

This is such a touchy topic & its to be understood! I am a Christian , I have been one since 9 years old. I have fallen away and backslid but I have repented and turned away from my sins. in order to not make this comment so long I will get to the juste of it. I believe in Holiness, walking uprightly before THE LORD... I don't believe in remarriage if you just going to use it like a drive through. but if you truly are repentant , fully understand what it takes to stay married, not merely marrying to have sex, you want your marriage to glorify GOD , then I believe you can remarry. If GOD can forgive us of every sin and wrong doing. Why wouldn't he forgive us for a bad marriage. In my case I had a civil marriage but it was never consummated. 6 years later we divorced. If it is GOD'S will to give me a husband I will surely marry again. I have someone who I care about who told me I couldn't marry again and his argument sounded right, but its not final. Right now I am in Peace im being abstinent . My desire is for GOD to be the Closest Person to me & HE is. I by no means want to take advantage of GODS GRACE, but if I say GOD I made a bad mistake, I didn't really wait before I made my decision , I repent and I am moving forward , GOD will not condemn me. There are so many people that are suffering , and it hurts me. I pray that GOD sheds more light on this because many are living in secret sins because they are told they can not remarry. I do believe in following the leadership of your Church , I also believe that you should not be held in a prison if you want to remarry and have sought GODLY Counsel. some people were married as young teenagers. some were in abusive marriages where mate beat them to a pulp, some peoples Wife of or Husband started having sex with the same sex, some married because of lust & lust and good sex doesn't keep a marriage only CHRIST does, and countless other reasons. Am I saying just get married and 3 months later just change your mind, absolutely not...but am I saying get purified, repent, repent to others, get counseling, learn from past mistake, pray , fast, make sure that you know without any doubt that this time is forever! I can understand how fellow Christians can be so adament about no remarriage, but i also believe in GOD that will not condemn you when you truly decide to do it right! I respect people and their conclusion but I also know GOD for myself. and when he says behold I make all things new, I believe HIM. A marriage that's not ordained of GOD will never last, its no good, its a bad decision its a sin, a sin that GOD will forgive you for. if you want to remarry to play around then you will deal with GOD in judgment. But if you are sincere GOD will absolutely accept your marriage. this is not easy for me to say because I know what the Word says and peoples interpretation of it. some is right and some is wrong. I have been abstinent for over 5 years. and im in no rush. GOD has the final say so, I will Obey HIM. And if HE deems fitting to marry me on this earth.If HE Approves it, I will do in a less than a split second. Amen!

Not sure about all this but i am sure of one thing once you are saved and ask for forgiveness from the lord jesus Christ and believe in your heart that he die on the cross and three days later rose and ascend to heaven and sits at the right hand side of our ALMIGHTY Father , you are completely saved of all your sins and they are washed away ( especially your past sins ) and if you follow the lord and obey all commandments from that day forward you are forgiven for remarriage after a divorce. The only Unforgettable sin is BLASPHEMY towards the HOLY SPIRIT. If you do that you will NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. That's all I have to say GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

I want to thank God and you for this video. I was married in 1989 and divorced in 1996. I was a secular person, in the world and not a follower of Christ. My ex husband was raised Jewish yet agnostic. I was raised Christian yet never even read the Bible until I was in my 20's. Yet it took me 30 years beyond my marriage to become a Christian. I have been divorced for over 20 years and was involved numerous people before being born again. I have wondered if I was even eligible now that I know what I know, but I certainly did not know any of this when I got married. It's not even that I am yearning to be married now...I am just curious. I absolutely know now that I'd never marry a non believer, if I do remarry, but I wanted to know if it is correct and I have been praying over this for a while. And I know God answers me because I have my own experience of God's answers AMEN! So I thank you in the case that God brings me a proper man to (re)marry. Because since my ex and I wrote our own vows and were married by a Unity minister, I'm not even sure the marriage was recognized by God. I've so many questions, yet I feel content, and have felt contented that God would let me know. Thank you, again.

Brother, his first marriage may not have been God's will. A marriage in front of the world is not per se a marriage in front of God. Remarriage IS adultery, yes, but not if the first marriage was against God's will. God alone decides when a marriage is right and when it is not. God commanded me to stay with my first wife, since my wife had desire for the Lord, but that is not the case for every husband. that is not up to me decide, but up to God. I am most certainly no example, but if Mike (Desario, not me) was already divorced before coming to the Lord. The idea that divorce for any reason is a sin and that a husband in his second marriage had to return to his first wife is from the RCC. The Law of Moses actually forbade such thing. We are not under that law, but nothing that Jesus commanded would suggest we would have to. Our covenant with God is also not unconditional. Now you dont sound like you would believe in once saved always saved. But the "no divorce" doctrine is strongly connected to OSAS, in both case the idea exists that a covenant was unconditional, which is unscriptural. I pray that you realize the truth about the scriptures

@@michaelalbertjr.3230 If anybody marries, it was because it was God's will. God is sovereign and all things go according to the counsel of His own will (Ephesians 1:11). So you create a loophole here in wickedness saying that we can never know a marriage was God's will, who can know God's will anyways right guys? Surely if the marriage sucked, it was never God's will to begin with! And therefore, divorce and remarriage must be okay since we aren't separating what God has put together since it was never God's will and God had nothing to do with it to begin with! Yay for divorce and remarriage in this "wasn't God's will" loophole we just made up! God is not sovereign!

Matthew 19:8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I (Jesus) tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for fornication (porneia), and marries another woman commits adultery (moicheia).”

Christopher Jordan: The hardness of heart is the state of the sinner(just like the woman at the well). When we repent and submit to Christ He expects us to conduct our marriages like it was meant to be from the beginning, seeing that we now have access to His Holy Spirit to empower us to be faithful and steadfast in all areas of life, including marriage. Outside of Christ we don’t have that power to be what GOD calls us to be. As a result people commit all kinds of sins, including divorce and remarriage. But when we come to Christ he forgives the sins committed in our dead, weak and fallen state. Subsequently we then have the Grace of GOD, which leaves us no excuse for divorce except it be for fornication.
@christopherjordan62374 жыл бұрын
@@roblane5699 The divorce and remarriage for adultery doctrine is based solely on the supposed guilt of the wife in Matthew 5:32, and Matthew 19:9.

You're addressing those "all remarriage is adultery, and you're going to hell if you live in adultery" folk. But there is more to the Christian life than avoiding hell. There's the desire to do what is pleasing to God. Now there are those who have been stating that when Jesus says, "except for fornication," He is addressing those in betrothal, who's marriages haven't been consummated, or else He would have said, "except for adultery." That's the situation Joseph had to deal with, and several of the Pharisees were badgering Jesus on being born out of fornication. What's your take on that?

@Follow Christ You can use that I tim verse when addressing true marriage(that is between never-before-marrieds or the vows of widows/widowers), but it doesn't apply to remarriage. You mention about being a new creation. True! We are a new creation made new through His gospel. Where else can you find remarriage discouraged in this world? It is only in Christ we are told it is adultery.I Cor 7:11 lays it out plain (although many use the chapter to justify remarriage as well)..if she departs, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband.." because, like you said, in Deut a woman can't return to her husband after a 2nd marriage. BTW, not saying this is your position, but when a prevously married person hooks up with a never-before-married, isn't that first person forbidding marriage for the REAL partner of their spouse? I just pray their never been married love interest has read and understood Luke 16:18

Christopher Jordan: you lack understanding and the unfortunate thing is that it would take some personal one on one walking through the scriptures in order for it to be explained to you. However I’ll leave you with this: Jesus offered salvation to the woman at the well who had been married and divorced 5 times. She said that she had no husband and Jesus said that she spoke the truth. John 4:16-18 KJVS [16] Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. [17] The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: [18] For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. Now knowing this you should re-evaluate your understanding of this subject matter. I’ve studied this subject thoroughly and I can certainly say that the brother teaching in this video is right. GOD Bless

R Lane No you just added a humanistic world view and things that are not in Gods word. Jesus did not say she was forgiven didn’t say she was saved didn’t say what she was to do next. So that story doesn’t shed any light on divorce and remarriage. Watch David Pawson Cambridge and Durham scholar and Dr Joseph Web and Dr Mike Gorrie and so many others! Unless you hate your own life and your father mother children you are not worthy of me. Unless you take up your cross daily and follow me you are not worthy of me. If you put hand to plow and look back you are not worthy for the kingdom of God!!! If the world hates me they will hate you. Who made the marriage covenant law? God did. He said bound for life while her husband is still alive if she lay with another man while her husband is still alive she is called an adulteress or state of being. If her husband dies she is free. Same for men. It is a covenant and sin only offends a covenant death is the only thing that breaks a covenant.

Christopher Jordan The offer of salvation IS the offer of forgiveness. John 4:10 KJVS [10] Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. It’s not a world view, it’s scripture.

Hey Mike u said where are we commanded to get in a prayer closet? Its in Matthew chapter 6. But the scriptures teach us we have to Pray Always, and Pray Without ceasing. But what im asking is it a Big Sin to Reject to Pray to God 1 Day? Like do we have to Repent if we Refused to pray to God one day? Is this a Sin of Omission the Sin of Not praying to God some days that Can Disqualify us from the kindom of God if we Dont Repent?

That's not a Command, He said 'When you Pray, don't be like the hypocrites who want to be seen', If you feel the conscience need to pray in secret daily, do so. But its not a Command, Praying without ceasing is an attitude of pray in our daily walk with Christ. Its not a Sin to of omission to not pray in secret everyday.

This is such a popular new fad for the definition of the "exception clause" that is half-baked and will probably get phased out sometime fairly soon. The primary concern of Deut 24:1-4 is that the wife who marries another man is "defiled." There is no excuse for people reading this law and not seeing that phrase "after she has been defiled." And no, "some uncleanness" does NOT correspond to "porneia." "Zanit" and its wordforms do, hence the Septuagint using the word "porneia" and its forms as the translation. The matter of the woman being "defiled" by another man IS what corresponds to pervasive concept of a woman being "defiled" by promiscuity/porneia. The reason that law was written is because divorce and second marriage was the only remaining route for a woman to possibly survive sexual relations with another man such that her first husband could return to her. Otherwise she would would promptly be killed or her "thigh" would "fall away" and so relations with her would be impossible in any other context following adultery; Jesus would later say "anyone who marries she who is divorced commits adultery" which is what has happened. "Porneia" should be cross-referenced with 1 Corinthians 6:13-20. The "exception clause" refers to this principle: it's an abomination for a man to have relations with a defiled woman, whether that's a prostitute (as Paul describes) or his defiled "wife." Joseph was about to divorce Mary, as the "just man" that he was, to avoid this sin of defiling himself on a defiled woman.

I listen to you when I need to hear the voice of the spirit because you always say what the bible says. Who is it then who speaks? The holy spirit is who I hear and it kills me if I am outside what he in the bible. Your mouth but God speaking out of your mouth because the spoken words and the written words are the same. I never strive to pry the meaning of what the spirit says but always I strive to say word for word what the spirit says because then I don't speak my words but the spirit in me says the same thing he said then. I am married for the third time. I am living in adultery. I know this because I read the bible and it told me so. MY heart was broken and I mean broken. I cried and cried and read and reread but the scripture would not change to suit me. I told God from a broken heart that I was so sorry but on the other hand how could it be right to leave the woman who I really had a marriage with? I told God that I agree he is right and I am wrong and that if he would forgive me I would never remarry if it did not work out this time. I am comfortable with the fact that I confessed my wrong and I am especially happy that I can read and understand the written word rather than questioning the answer and then finding an answer to questioning the answer. I urge you to stop saying what you say and to say what he said.

Some people just can’t understand the difference between the forgiveness Christ offers to the sinner and the admonition He has for the saint, concerning the same sin.
@roblane56994 жыл бұрын
Roy Hobs Meaning, when the sinner comes to Christ He forgives the divorce(s) commited while they were in their sins. And now as a saint they are admonished to remain married except for fornication.
@roblane56994 жыл бұрын
Roy Hobs No, because they knew the law. I’m talking about those who are outside of covenant with Christ, like the Samaritan woman at the well. She was told that if she asked she would receive living water, which comes with forgiveness. After one enters into covenant with Christ they can only divorce in the case of fornication(adultery Matt. 19:9). The ones in Romans 7:2-3 know the law & adultery isn’t mentioned. Plus the point Apostle Paul is making concerns saints no longer being bound to the law because we are now dead to the law and now married to Christ.
@roblane56994 жыл бұрын
Roy Hobs Yes, she could have a husband because Jesus said that she was not married. So because she is single upon entering into covenant with Christ, she is free to marry and must remain in that marriage until death does them part or an occurrence of fornication. Remember, Jesus said that she had no husband.
@roblane56994 жыл бұрын
Roy Hobs If sexual intercourse constitutes marriage, why did Jesus say that “she had no husband? AND the one you are now with is not your husband” Jesus was speaking of the 5 previous husbands that she had been married to, and also said that she was not married to the one she was with currently. John 4:17-18 KJVS [17] The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, THOU HAST WELL SAID, I have no husband: [18] For thou hast had five husbands; AND he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. If sex makes a marriage Jesus would have said that she had 5 husbands at least and possibly a 6th husband; because I’m sure that she had sex with the 5 husbands and most probably was having sex with the one she was with that was not her husband. Evidently Jesus doesn’t see it the way you do. Somethings that were done under law didn’t continue in Grace. According to your understanding Jesus should have told her that her 1st marriage(by sexual encounter) was still valid, “go and bring him to me”. But He didn’t say that. He told her that she was right in saying that she had no husband. He told her that if she asked He would give her living water(which comes with forgiveness). After coming to Christ she can then marry a man who is in Christ as well and live marriage the way GOD intended, like it was from the beginning. Adam was Holy and so was Eve. Any marriage done any other way is not GOD’s intended marriage. Even Gen. 38:8. Man was in a fallen state. We must look to the beginning for our example of marriage. That’s what Jesus did. Matthew 19:8 KJVS [8] He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: BUT FROM THE BEGINNING IT WAS NOT SO. Thankfully now in Christ we can be forgiven for all past sins, including divorce and go on to marry in The Lord. Equally yoked till death do us part.

To put it short, "except for cause of fornication means" ...anything ugly, abusive, unclean and/or dangerous. "Fornication in this sense does not mean sex before marriage because the marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled which means it is higher than the term fornication which means that in a marriage it would be referred to as adultery and not "fornication" because it is the marriage that is being addressed and not the relationship outside the marriage. So, the word fornication in this sense means anything bad enough to get a divorce. This is why God guides us in marriage and gives us ways to stay together. He does this because he knows that people would want out. Bottom line..people need to learn how to sleep in different bedrooms.

What about the one whose husband died but later she married a divorced man. Is that a sin on the part of the woman or is it a sin on the part of the divorced man?
@yestothetruth5 жыл бұрын
Hi, these are my thoughts (making assumptions for a no-sin path to marriage of these two): If a woman's husband is dead, she can marry whom she will (1 Corinthians 7:27). All looks clear for that woman (widow), except that if she is a Christian, then she should marry a fellow Christian (I mean someone who is really born again & knows Jesus like her - that is the assumption). As for the man, if he is a "brother" then the assumption is that he was not the one initiating his divorce to his ex-wife and she was an unbeliever who left him (e.g. 1 Corinthians 7:15). A divorced man is not a "still married" man, so he can take another woman as his spouse and not sin. His case is that of the man who is "loosed from a wife" and who is marrying another (1 Corinthians 7:27-28a). And since that woman is a "sister" according to our assumption (really the only reason she would care about all this), then the brother has no problem marrying this sister. DISCLAIMER: This response has taken into account an hypothetical situation and does not constitute an advice on or an endorsement of any action concerning marriage between two persons. Any such use is prohibited and, for a servant of God, would contitute an act of trust in man rather than trust in God (Psalm 118:8; Jeremiah 17:5).

Abuse in Marriage people say there are gray areas what about abuse well the bible DOES talk about it! Why have we never seen this or our pastors talked about it? 1 Peter 2:18 Slaves, in reverent fear of God SUBMIT yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are HARSH. 19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the PAIN OF UNJUST SUFFERING because they are conscious of God. 20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. 21 TO THIS YOU WERE CALLED, BECAUSE CHIST SUFFERED FOR YOU, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. 22 “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”[e] 23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 25 For “you were like sheep going astray,”[f] but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. 1 Peter 3 New International Version (NIV) 3 WIVES, IN THE SAME WAY submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 5 For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, 6 like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear. 7 Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. 1 Peter 4:Living for God 4 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. God said you can separate but MUST REMAIN SINGLE OF BE RECONCILED!! 2 As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do-living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter4:17 For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”[a] 19 So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.

Not too complicated. The problem starts with churches that marry people and never explain that as a Christian you only have one chance at marriage. Only exception is the spouse cheats or dies. If you marry and spouse cheats on you, you can divorce them. You can get remarried. Of course God would prefer reconciliation. Now the person who committed adultery has to understand that they should not remarry. That's the price you pay. It's easier to face God and tell him you broke a commandment as a Christian than to blatantly remarry and commit adultery everyday of your life. Now for the non believer he is forgiven for past divorce and is allowed to remarry. He is born again. Now the tricky part is since no one ever teaches born again Christian's about marriage and divorce, they are committing this sin because of ignorance. Very sad that all we have in the church today is grace, grace, and more grace.

@artbyrobot13 жыл бұрын
@@epiphanytimes7719 Jesus never said the act of adultery is grounds for divorce. He said except for fornication (porneia) also translated to sexual immorality. Matthew 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery -- and we know from the context that if the wife committed fornication - NOT ADULTERY but fornication, then she would be stoned (Deuteronomy 22:20) - meaning before consummation of the marriage during the 1 year betrothal period where they were still called man and wife, if she committed fornication, she would be killed and the man could therefore put her away and remarry since the covenant is broken by death. Nowhere does it say that if the woman commits adultery he can divorce and remarry while she is still living. She'd be put to death and death would break the covenant even in that case, although that case is not even reference by Jesus since he says fornication and not adultery. Adultery is not even the same Greek word as the word used in the loophole of Matthew 19:9 "except for fornication" as you can see here: From Matthew 19:9 Strongs Concordance: commits adultery. μοιχᾶται (moichatai) Verb - Present Indicative Middle or Passive - 3rd Person Singular Strong's 3429: To commit adultery, not only of a married woman but of a married man. From moichos; to commit adultery. fornication, πορνείᾳ (porneia) Noun - Dative Feminine Singular Strong's 4202: Fornication, whoredom; met: idolatry. From porneuo; harlotry; figuratively, idolatry. So you are putting adultery during a marriage that has been consummated in modern times as a excuse to divorce and remarry without the spouse being stoned and the covenant being broken through death and to have now a new wife while the wife of your youth is yet living which in no way did Jesus permit in Matthew 19:9 which clearly points to fornication outside of covenant one-flesh union during the 1 year betrothal period and was addressed to the Jews who were still operating by Mosaic law at the time where stoning was the result of fornication and adultery any way you slice it - and again, adultery was not even the stated exception given in this passage as I have proven. You say " Its obvious you are looking for an excuse to lust. You are on your way to hell." I disagree. I said 99.99999% of people look at a person with lust in their heart. I did not say that this excuses it nor did I say that I do this nor did I say that I ever intend to do this. I have not looked at a woman or man or anything else with lust in my heart for going on 2 years because I am walking in holiness and perfection in Christ. Let God be true and every man be a liar, I would not let any statistics about the wickedness of man be a excuse to sin. I merely point out that if 99.99999% of people look with lust in their heart, and lust in their heart is porneia and grounds for divorce as such as per Matt 19:9, then anybody can divorce at any time which clearly was not Jesus' intention as the takeaway from this verse and yet is being twisted as the takeaway by people looking for any Biblical loophole to divorce and remarry. It is wickedness and I just closed the loophole for you. If you are with a second wife, you are heading for hell if you don't repent, divorce her, and pray for a reconciliation with your living original wife. If your living original wife is now dead, then remarry your current wife who is an affair until you marry her with a fresh ceremony before God with no living spouse in the picture.

Moses did not grant permission for a remarriage. Jesus and he agree. D.24:2 simply states that she might go and become the wife of another, not that she has permission to be. If Moses granted the remarriage, she would not be defiled, and taking her back would be allowed and not be an abomination and a pollutant to the land. Fact is, she is an adulteress (Romans 7:2-3), but, she is not stoned because she was forced into it, not one by her own unfaithfulness and women could not survive back then without a man's protection - her father or her husband.

All of these facts draw a clear understanding that remarriage after a divorce, under the New Covenant with Christ, is a scripturally false and baseless teaching.

how many times did you forgive your spouse for this? 77x7? Hmmm... sounds like 0 times. If you do not forgive and stand by your spouse, you will go to hell.
