Brilliant upload once again Horse Racing Legends . The potential of Brownes Gazzette was scary . He thumped Desert Orchid and See You Then at Kempton in the 84/85 season I think it was but died of a heart attack at Newcastle in the Fighting Fifth in 85/86 season ? He really was a legend in the making as far as I am concerned.

I’m always taken aback with the Supreme and the 2m5f race for novices the next day , 25+ horses in both , every one the Apple of their owners n trainers eye , every one still with vast untapped potential and untested ability- but the VAST majority after the race never really amount to much and disappear without a trace - great looking back at these races with that knowledge ! Backed Bajan Sunshine in this one .. 🤮 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Dawn run was a worthy winner but I read the book about Desert Orchid and not only did he HATE going left handed but he also didn’t act well round Cheltenham in particular as he used to get speedy cuts on his legs trying to adjust to going left handed - all of which made his eventual Gold cup triumph all the more outstanding ✊ 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Great Memories but the defeat of Noddy's Ryde hurt me a bit financially at the time .Badsworth Boy never looked like beaten in the QM . What a brilliant trainer Michael Dickinson was

Awww I mind that race well ! I had £10 and put £7 on Brownes Gazzette and a 50p combi rev/fc with Townley Stone and wait for it to.. Keelby Kavalier as I’d backed it on the flat .. racing up towards the line I wasn’t looking at the winner I was roaring on KK to get the better of the fav TS .. 50/1 !!!!.. paid a huge FC and I was the ‘big man’ for a few weeks 😅…. Didn’t last 😧 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@ I’d just started my own wee 3man brickies squad and still struggling for experience etc so that money went a LONG way back then , was about £150 sovs, thick end of a fortnights wages fir a £10 spot - clearly there were WAY more losses than wins but I’ve found as I get older that the memories that fade first are the bad ones … 😄 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The Arkle has just started , I already know the result that big nob Bobsline just got the better of a thriller with another ill fated fav of mine Noddys Ryde .. sickener 🤦‍♂️… even worse when Noddys Ryde later went the same way as Celtic Ryde and died on the course 😳 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I seen the betting for the Sun Alliance novices chase and immediately recognised A Kinsman as the winner 🤨.. I backed Lettoch as it was a Dickinson runner who I followed with gay abandon 😅.. this race throws up winners time n time again who fail to go on after this yet the placed horses DO go on . In this version there’s Forgive n Forget , Lettoch , Lean ar raigh , West tip , Duke of Milan who all went on to their days in the sun later whilst I don’t remember A Kinsman ever achieving this level again .. 🤷‍♂️ 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I remember watching Tom Sharp who fell in the triumph absolutely running away in the Cesarawitch and leading all the way and holding on at the death .
