Shouldn't osmotic pressure increase towards the end of the capillary? Hydrostatic pressure drives water out of the capillary making capillaries more and more concentrated. Higher solute concentration in capillaries means more osmotic pressure into the capillaries. Yet in the diagram osmotic pressure in the beginning and ending of the capillary is constant at 28mmHg. Why is this the case? Then in the middle of the capillary where hydrostatic pressure = osmotic pressure, that is where solutes are free to move down their concentration gradients. How would this affect solute concentration in the blood? Would this also affect osmotic pressure?

I still don't get what actually exerts osmotic pressure. It was defined as the pressure to PREVENT osmosis, so what is applying it and what does it mean when a fluid has osmotic pressure?
