It is funny how everyone always think that German sound so aggressive, but it is just because of the mispronunciation and the jokes about the pronunciation. If you listen to a native German speaker having a normal conversation, it does not sound that agrresive. 😉

Thank you! I’m not the best german speaker I’m about half fluent but my dad is also half fluent and my Nan (dads dad) is fluent as she was born in Germany and migrated to Australia and it sounds more aggressive than something like English or Japanese but when a fluent native speaker speaks it it isn’t as aggressive as the mockery people make of it 😂😂

My Dad drove a school bus and he always told us kids the same thing, that elementary kids were still afraid, high school kids were starting to mature but the junior high kids were monsters! LOL

My one area that's the weakest is relating/loving teens. Keeping those communication lines open with your teens is vital, you two do that very well, I've learned so much from watching your family, it's not easy being that age as they transition into adults, it brings a tear to my eye when I hear Zade tell you, "I love you!" He wants to be with you, kudos, you're the best!

Susi's German is actually really good in terms of the accent (can't really say much more about it), also German only sounds scary when you speak with a Hitler accent which really no one uses :D, but yeah it's among the harsher sounding languages... Also from a European perspective it's rather normal to at least speak two foreign languages though the level of fluency certainly differs. In Germany for instance you cannot graduate High School without having taken at least two foreign languages and learned them up to a certain level of fluency. However, I do see why Americans do not put as much of an emphasis on learning a foreign language since it is not as necessary for them (country size, their native language already being the worlds lingua franca), though I personally feel like being fluent in three foreign languages certainly has opened a lot of doors for me.

Just a tip. I wouldn't recommend using that pot for other food if you've used it for the jalapeño jelly. My dad makes load of chillie sauces and we've learned that using the same pot will make your other food spicy, even if you've cleaned it really well. 🙊

Quick tip: in Mexico if we ever touch chili and then rub our eyes we use someone’s long hair to rub our eyes with. It’s a thing. For example if I rubbed my eyes after touching jalapeños I would go to my sister grab her hair and rub against my eyes. It works!!
