Let's be objective here. Both sides are entitled to air their positions.Opp MP says it is her suspicion about the PAP floating trial balloon. Shan is not wrong in making his point tt we are 1st World Parliament and so need to maintain standard and not go around casting aspersions at govt intentions without evidence or facts. Whether Opp MP did so wt mischief or simply wanted to air a view, this is the right and most suitable forum to do. If not in Parliament, she is entitled to do so at this forum.Where else is as open and as legit as in Parliament? If PAP takes offence, produce the facts to demolish the notion, which Shan and Heng had done exactly and thereafter everyone can consider the case closed! There was really no need for PAP to demand a withdrawal of the suspicion by Opp MP ,or/and hit further below the belt by casting aspersions at Opp MP's integrity. That was uncalled for, really. It only had the negative effect of making PAP come across as arrogant and intolerant of adverse comments. Parl debates had already showed up many times tt PAP is guilty of this. PAP sld avoid this hence, bcos for me, PAP has always done itself and Singapore proud wt good, sound policies and i dare say it had been almost solely responsible for peace, stability, properity and progress for Singapore since decades ago. So there is no really no need to drag opp MPs' characters in the mud. By now our increasingly sophisticated electorate can judge and come to rational conclusions for themselves!
