How large is the propane orifice going into air pipe?

It is approx 13/64” as it used to be a tapped hole for a mig tip from my venturi burner. However, because of the needle valve before it enters the chamber, I do not think the hole size matters. I’ve seen people put a 3/8” pipe straight into the chamber, as long as it’s regulated with a needle valve

Ribbon burners are a fad. They work so well because they are forced induction. Make a regular forced induction burner and you will have a superior heat source. I have a 2 burner forge with burners I built myself using a .025 mig tip. I forge at 4 psi and forge weld at 6 psi. I used a 75 cfm blower motor for the air source. Forge On!!!

Awesome! At what pressure do you run it?

I usually start it around 10psi then as it is heating up and gets to temperature it stays around 1-2psi

@@athomeforge2140 thank you! And, while we're on the subject, how long does it take to heat up? I'm just going to make one myself, so trying to get a proper firsthand information.

@@mythdweller Because my Forge that I made it fairly large, 14" lonf by approx 7" diameter, with a flat base, probably 15-20 minutes up to a forge weld heat. it is useable within 12 or so for general forging.
