🐆 Last spotted in mid-October with a pregnant belly and no suckle marks, the mystery deepened as she became scarce, leaving us yearning for a glimpse of her elusive den. November brought a revelation - evident suckle marks confirmed the arrival of cubs! Undeterred by the challenges, I made it my unwavering mission to find her den, braving the relentless sun and embracing the thrill of the search.
🌅 A breakthrough moment unfolded when she was discovered in the heart of her territory, guarding two impala lamb carcasses. Seizing the opportunity, I patiently settled into the shade, hoping to capture intimate moments between hearty feasts and tender cub feedings. Despite the shade gods not being on my side, the wait presented fantastic photographic opportunities of several birds, adding a unique twist to the adventure.
📷 Hours later, with temperatures soaring into the late thirties, I reluctantly retreated to the sanctuary of an air-conditioned office. But fear not! That afternoon, my perseverance bore fruit as she remained in the same spot, quenching her thirst and gracefully returning to feed her precious cubs.
🔍 The following day brought a new challenge - no sign of her! Determined to unravel the mystery, I teamed up with fellow rangers on a suspenseful walk, searching for fresh clues. Tracks in the river teased us, heightening the anticipation, but the den remained elusive.
🌈 In a twist of fate, she reappeared 24 hours later. With unwavering determination, I stuck close, following her until she emitted a soft chuffing contact call - a call to her cubs. There it was, the hidden den, cradling three pint-sized, heart-meltingly adorable cubs.

Sean, couple quick questions for you if you don't mind. I have been having trouble logging into the Londolozi Blog and I'm not sure what the issue is. Any idea as to how to fix it? I usually use FB but it is denying that. Is the 600mm lens you showed briefly in the video at the mud wallow a mirrorless lens? And do the Londolozi rangers typically use personal lenses, ones from the photography studio, or combination of both?

Hey Michael, let me look into the blog login issue and get back to you. The 600mm is a normal DSLR lens. I use it on the Canon 1DX body for most of my filming. The Rangers all mostly use their own personal lenses. On the rare occasion they use a lens from the studio.
