I’d like to offer a suggestion. While Brother Paul already asks his guests many insightful and thought-provoking questions, it could be even more valuable to arrange follow-up interviews where guests respond to a curated selection of questions and comments from the audience. The audience often brings brilliant insights and perspectives to the discussion that would enrich the conversation further.

Make note that God has never used the word religion or mentioned any religion as Judaism Christianity or islam. Religion is man made… Being “faithful” is then important notion. “All the prophets who were sent by God were sent here for one and the same purpose. Through them, God wanted to impart to man that knowledge of reality which would enable him to become an inhabitant of eternal paradise.” Prophets were not sent to divide the faithfull into man made religions

Thank you, Brother Paul, for all the insightful content you share on Blogging Theology. It’s been incredibly enriching, and I’m grateful for your efforts. I’d also like to extend my gratitude to Brother Dr Sadeq Ansari for his contributions. Additionally, Dr Yasir Qadhi’s intermediate-level Seerah series on the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a remarkable resource. Spanning 104 episodes recorded over 4-5 years, it covers complex facets and subtle nuances of the Seerah in a deeply engaging way. I look forward to the new addition to the Seerah, as one cannot truly know how to love the Prophet without understanding his life, his pristine character, and the intricate, fascinating challenges he faced. It’s always a blessing to have scholars bring unique perspectives, allowing a broad audience to connect and deepen their understanding in meaningful ways.

Masha’Allah, Seerah helps contextualise the Qur’an and the Shari’ah. It’s essential to study and look into Seerah. I like the idea of looking for more angles for our times. JzakAllah Khair. Most needed ! Since it is about the Seerah , let's be mindful of the fact that RasoolAllah never had one and never approved of a dog as pet ... @@oddizzee alhamdulilah..the beauty of Quran is that it contains the accounts of divine correction of something contradictory that RasoolAllah did... Tarikh al Maghazi (History of the Prophet's (saws) Military Campaigns) is attributed to Ibn Waqid al Aslami, aka al Waqidi. Imam ash Shafii (rh) said of him: "there were 7 in al Madinah who used to fabricate authorities. Al Waqidi was one of them". Imam al Bukhari (rh) said of him: " he has been abandoned in hadith. He fabricated hadith". Imam Dhahabi (rh) said there is consensus al Waqidi is a liar who fabricates. While it may be interesting to read al Waqidi's works, the reality is there are fabrications and weak narrations which can mislead common folk who do not know they are fabrications.

Significant changes to the Torah occurred after the Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) was sent. This can be sensed from Quran 5:41-43, especially verse 43, which highlights alteration had taken place likely after that incident for at least one issue: "But how is it that they come to you for judgment while they have the Torah, in which is the judgment of Allah? Then they turn away, [even] after that; but those are not [in fact] believers" (Quran 5:43). One possible reason for these alterations, specifically at that time, is that the Jewish community expected the final prophet to be exclusively for them, as they were accustomed to having prophets sent specifically to their nation. This belief is supported by Quran 2:89, which speaks about their rejection of Prophet Muhammad: "And when there came to them a Book from Allah confirming that which was with them-although before they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieved-but [then] when there came to them that which they recognized, they disbelieved in it; so the curse of Allah will be upon the disbelievers" (Quran 2:89). Today's Torah doesn't have that. Nevertheless, even at that time, the Torah likely still contained verses that were original and divinely revealed. To illustrate this, imagine writing a document that includes verses from the Quran. Even though the majority of the document is your own writing, the verses from the Quran would still command respect, and you would not be permitted to treat the document carelessly. Similarly, while the Torah had been altered, it still contained portions that came directly from Allah, and therefore, deserved respect. In fact, Quran 6:108 instructs Muslims not to insult the deities of other religions, even if they worship idols: "And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah, lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them about what they used to do" (Quran 6:108). So, if we are instructed not to insult the false gods of other religions, how much more respect should we show for a book that at least contains some words from God? Now, regarding Dr. Sadeq Ansari quoting Tahawi: with all due respect, books like Tahawi's and similar works are comparable to writings in churches and synagogues. In Islam, we do not have a church or hierarchy of religious authority. The ultimate reference is the Quran and authentic Hadith, and if these are followed, one will not go astray. Relying on any individual’s interpretation, regardless of their status, can lead to deviation from the truth. The command is clear: follow the Quran and the Prophet (SAAW) alone, as stated in Quran 7:3: "Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember" (Quran 7:3). In fact, Tahawi made several significant errors. For example, he classified wiping over shoes during wudu (ablution) as a matter of 'Aqeedah (creed), which is incorrect. He even included this in his book on creed. Furthermore, Tahawi advocated blind following of certain people, which is a dangerous approach. The only person we are to follow without question is the Prophet Muhammad (SAAW). Additionally, Tahawi made the flawed assumption that one must either follow the People of the Book or the Mushrikeen (idol worshipers), when in reality, there is no need to follow anyone but the Quran and the authentic Sunnah. Quran 15:9 reassures us that Allah has promised to preserve the Quran: "Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian" (Quran 15:9). To put it plainly, Tahawi's reasoning reflects limited intellectual capacity, and it's surprising that more people haven't recognized the flaws in his logic. His classification of wiping over shoes as part of creed is just one example of how misguided his thinking can be. Furthermore, when Dr. Ansari cited Tahawi as saying one must either follow the People of the Book or the Mushrikeen, this is even more troubling. The principle is simple: if something is found in the Quran or authentic Hadith, follow it. If not, you are free to act according to your discretion, even if a scholar issues a fatwa on the matter. If it wasn’t explicitly prescribed by Allah through His Messenger, it holds no binding authority. Moreover, Tahawi’s limited mentality suggests that on issues where Allah has left things open, he assumes one must blindly follow an established religious authority. But who’s to say that in matters left open by Allah, a Mushrik (polytheist) might not have a better idea? For example, managing a database or constructing a train system-these are worldly matters that don’t require religious ruling. In fact, the pre-Islamic Arabs had qualities such as pride, dignity, and resistance to oppression, which may have had positive aspects. On the other hand, some Christians might appear to surrender to abuse under the guise of humility, when in fact it could be weakness. Finally, Brother Paul, I hope you have checked your email. I sent you a couple of messages, including one yesterday. Please take a look when you have the time.

So the Hadith claiming the the wife of the prophet had a dog is apparently extremely weak and may have been fabricated; as one of the narrators in the chain is accused of stealing fabricated Hadith and then narrating them. Hence, what is the point of just mentioning random info as though we are adding something to the scholarly tradition without verifying it first? It is against the tradition of the scholars of Hadith. That is enough for me of this video.

Belief in Angels is one of the articles of faith. We believe there are Angels of rememberence that were created who enter homes of people reciting Quran, and doing Allah's Dhikr in order to bear witness bear to it and affirm it to Allah SWT, even though Allah knows everything. Remember Allah, the most Merciful has said in surah Nur of the Quran that he is the origin of light(Nur) and that a similar light(nur) is lit in the houses of people who mention Allah quite often. We know that Allah created the Angels with a similar light(Nur) so they are therfore attracted to it. Wherever these angels enter, shaitans flee therefrom. We know that these angels don't go near people who are in a state of nijasah (impurity). Dogs saliva is also a form of nijasah. The smell of dogs is strong because of their saliva and people who keep them also carry this strong smell. We know that dogs are also dangerous because they have issues with anger management. It is known thatbchildren, elderly and adult owners of pet dogs have been injured or killed, when the dog turned on them. Lastly, as you have heard from people who keep them, dogs make better companions than Cats whereas Allah created men and women to be companions of each other. I could say alot more but i am short of time. Please read the hadith below. It is one of the most authentic hadith out there. May Allah bless you all and give you abundant goodness Abu Talhah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog, nor an image in a likeness.” Abu Talhah said, “The Prophet means by likeness an image of living souls.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3225, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2106 Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim
@ma5839Ай бұрын
@SKyser-i5k All information about angels (malaikat) is "ghayb" that must be based in "naas" Divine texts (Quran a/o Sunnah). They are real beings with distinct features known only to Allah Who allows His prophets & messengers to attain certain information about them, and that information also provided in the Holy Quran. Thus, the authentic narration from the Prophet (saws) in which he said angels are averse to dogs. Allah AWJ empowered mankind to domesticate certain animals to benefit human societies and ease life. Domestication of dogs has been absolutely important to mankind, especially in early human history. But now, mankind no longer depends on dogs.

1. The Prophet's SAW respect towards another people's book, perhaps it is just that, a respectful gesture. Why does it have anything to do with what the book was? We are also told to respect the religions of others to a degree, and to protect their monks/priests and their temples/churches etc. 2. Who said the torah that they had 1440 years ago is the same or even similar to the one we have today?
@nikjulianamusa8690Ай бұрын
Since ancient times, dogs has been used as guard dogs over life and property.. It cannot be denied that one cannot help but love any animal that show obedience and loyalty. One should look at the Hadith, where no wahyu was forthcoming to Rasullulah SAW when he was in his wife, A'isyah ra house and it turn out that it was because there was a dog in the house. It does not mean that we should be cruel to dogs or any animals to prove a point. We should understand that dogs were created for a specific purpose as protectors of life and property.
