Great - your regular monthly reviews are saving me a lot of time while actually making things clearer. Thanks

Thank you as always Ruth, I noticed last week the latest version available to download (in the UK) was newer than the March update & was waiting for the official update...but your Summary landed in my feed first ;) 🎉

As someone who stacks charts to be able to combine line and area charts I really appreciate this changes. No more crazy adjusting transparency settings and lining up axises, or using erros bars to emulate shade areas! Yay.

Thank you, Ruth. I wish folders or Sub-sections were enabled in the Power BI App as well.

It will come probably

Thanks for these summaries Ruth, very helpful! I wish they would open-source their visuals again. So many little fixes or tweaks that could be done by the community much faster than waiting for MS to catch up :)

Yeah, that would be fantastic!

I'm amazed that Power BI is finally catching up to Tableau in 24 with its built-in charts. I would be curious to know why they didn't do an open platform. Thanks for the review

They still have a lot to do before they come close to waht tableau can do with visuals :( Power BI is a better data management tool though…

PBI files will get opened in sharepoint🎉 though with the limitations of licenses but I hope our users who use it from sharepoint have it🤞

Speaking of unannounced updates... when did they enable 'Folders' in a workspace?! That would have been my favorite, but it's apparently an old news?? How did I miss that?! 🤔

It is quite recent ;)

I had asked the Power BI team to improve stepped line charts a long time ago (years ago) ... good to see they are finally doing it. But as you said things need to be dynamic and in general line charts still need more customization options. One feature which is really needed is to allow for breaks in a continuous time series line chart when there is no data (such as missing sensor data when plotted against time). By the way i had seen column tools (specifically columns) in my report view for years i thought so! I find the scan (and now clear) a barcode a very nifty way to filter reports in mobile (is this only in Power BI or was already there in other BI softwares)?

For years? My gosh…

@@CurbalEN Yeah i ended up connecting with their engineering team and they acknowledged the issue. While the new features probably solve the stepped line chart issue, but i don't think we can still gaps in a continuous line chart when sensor value is NULL for certain minutes/hours

I predict that MS are going to regret putting Co-Pilot anywhere near PowerBI. It will generate massive expectation and deliver massive disappointment - in the Service it is a premium per capacity (not user) paid facility only !!!!!!!! and is being talked about extensively online with no mention of the fact that the regional roll-out is way behind. The waiver warnings all over it don't inspire any confidence either. It is just a massive data scraping exercise to read years of all our modelling and reporting investments to make us all obsolete - thankfully initial rumours abound that it is not very good yet.

It is not good at all. I am in disbelieve that they have lauched this 🤷♀️
