Up here in Toronto-Alan Thicke's father (who is a doctor) and his sister (who is a chiropractor) live in a suburb called Brampton--they have been interviewed since his passing and were just as shocked as everyone else--his sister said she texted him everyday and essentially leading up to his death there was nothing amiss--condolences to Mr. Thicke's family

june penny really? Huge loss to who? The world? Why? I'm not saying he's not a good guy but don't understand why we care about someone we don't know...perhaps were really just morning on own inevitable demise.

How wonderful that Thicke's first ex-wife had so many nice things to say about Alan. They divorced in 1984 but obviously didn't become strangers. To think that we might not have Alex Trebek if it weren't for Alan Thicke.

Why would that reporter just ask how the famous son Robin is doing? Even in the title it just says robin

This is how aortic dissections work! They look good until they don’t. They are alive and talking until they are not! Aortic dissection has a 90 percent death rate! My pain doctor does anesthesia for surgeries on his time off and he says if they come in presenting with a aortic dissection he says call your mother because your survival chances are less than ten percent. So far he hasn’t seen any live to get off the operating table so….when they ask me how I got so much back pain? I said fighting one long year to keep my husband alive. Sleeping in very uncomfortable upright emergency room chairs will kill your spine. I then tell them my husband survived a very severe aortic dissection! Oh if east coast doctors had their way he would be long dead but I refused to sign a DNR and he was on life support and I said when I get back he better be alive or you can explain to a crew of eager lawyers why not! Everyone from the office managers to doctors hated me but that’s ok I made them do their jobs through three severe bouts of septic shock and a bedsore to the bone among other things. Anyway one day Jesus healed him and made it plain he would be getting the Glory because I made them explain and they said it was nothing we did! This is miracle! I said don’t forget it when you bug the next family for a DNR! He got off life support quickly but his body was like a newborn and it would take a few more years to fully recover. The night it happened our surgeon who does aortic dissections a lot all day every day and is quite sure of his talents came running in shouting get him on ice! Now! They had already slowed his bp to as low as possible and they got him frozen and then they killed him for a stand still surgery. They fixed the dissection and unthawed him and got him going again. My husband took the freezing badly and was on life support six months even though his heart and lungs were only organs not failing. It was still six long months of touch and go. I loved Alan Thicke way back to Thicke of the night. My mother watched Days religiously so I knew who Gloria Loring was. My guess is the hospital they took him to had no idea what they were doing and they killed him. It happens a lot. My husband was never misdiagnosed because EMT in the field follow Ritter rules! The hospitals follow Ritter rules because John Ritter would be alive if doctors had not spent so much time killing him! Sorry but you can’t use paddles etc on a aortic dissection or they bleed out faster! I suspect they did much the same to Alan Thicke
