The length she is going for with the extensions is too long for the length of the shortest layers. No amountof blending will make it look natural. She should have just cut the mullet and did collar bone length with the extensions. It would have looked much better.

There's many great stylists that are other cultures then back that do amazing extensions. The lady didn't do that bad of a job with placements and the way she installed. Where she went wrong was using the razor. It should only be used on certain types of hair, she could have gotten a smoother finish with shears on the layers by using a gliding technique. As far as conditioning goes, I've always told my clients to condition mid shaft to ends to seal the cuticle. Otherwise they'll get tangled easier, and won't last as long because the cuticle being left open really roughens the hair up. But she still did a good Job, even though she could have used some improvements. .

Diana T a keratin treatment removes frizz and adds protien to the hair hair it is different than a relaxer or Japanese straightening which do chemically damage the hair also when doing these treatments the temperature of the iron makes a big difference also

agreed. her real hair appears to have multiple tones and the extensions appear to be a solid color (this might be the camera but I doubt it). it will take more than fading or toning shampoo to even it out. they should have added low-lights to the extensions to make it more natural looking

I promise you these extensions will only make your hair stay short and break off and tear. I had rib length hair and added beaded extensions. When I took them out only three months later my hair had broken off from the beads and is now shoulder length 🙃

I left mine in to long the first time I had beaded extensions and my hair was matted together bad.. I lost a lot of hair after that, but I tried them again and I redo them every 3-4 weeks and they haven't damaged my hair at all.

+Kaitlyn Collins +Madison chase these aren't beaded extensions. Bead extensions clamp onto the hair and use no heat. Hers are great lengths which have a keratin bond that melts and bonds to the hair. From personal experience I don't like either. I prefer hair talk tape ins because you can use them 3 times for up to a year depending on how well you take care of them. I'm a hairstylist and I see cases like hers all the time and I would never ever ever let her get the bonded extensions, her hair is fried and they don't blend at all. I always recommend hair talk for someone in her position because the tape sections are an inch wide and cover more area. And they're better for her hair which needs a break.

Micro links don't slip out because they are glued in with heat (which, regardless of what she says, is damaging to your hair) but it is the preferred method (although people are starting to catch on to tape-in extensions) for white hair because it blends in with are typically straight, flat hair, whereas ethnic hair has so much body and texture it can easily hide a sewn in weave

For fine haired people even medium it's too much weight sometimes resulting in severe hair loss and sores from the tension. If you have thick, coarse hair by all means but for her type of hair that would be the last kind you want to use. She's better off with micro links or tape ins.

she definitely should've left her hair alone and let it get healthy again. white women typically don't get sewn-in extensions because are hair is straight and fine in comparison to ethnic hair, so the sewn doesn't always hold as well. its also a challenge to wash them without them getting matted.

I had extensions in 3 years ago, when I got them removed I had literally half the amount of hair left on my head compared to before I had the extensions! Pulled my hair out at the roots! Never again, I had to cut all my hair to let it thicken again.

3rdgen Sarah Actually, if removed properly, your hair shouldn’t fall out especially if you take care of your extensions and braid them at night to keep from pulling. The reason a lot of people freak out after taking extensions out (I’m speaking about bonds and tapes exclusively and not about weaves or braids) is because they’re so used to having the thickness of the extensions that they forgot how thin their actual hair was. Also, you have 100 strands of hair fall out a day which can’t properly fall out and are trapped in the bonds. so imagine after 4 months + how much hair will be stuck inside the bonds that fall out each day. THOUSANDS. Another thing is that people use more heat on their hair because they misjudge the healthiness of the extensions and forget how damaged their own hair is so they damage their own hair more without realising it. Properly done and properly removed and properly TAKEN CARE OF extensions SHOULD.NOT.DAMAGE.YOUR.HAIR.

Everyone is judging her natural hair saying it is fried, but when someone has hair that they feel isn't pretty enough, girls tend to try and change it. I have naturally curly hair and used to straighten in everyday, and I then cut it because I thought I wanted short hair, ended up hating it. From straightening it my hair became very dead. I stopped putting heat on it all the time, and actually like my curly hair now, and my hair has grown so much. I did wear clip-in extensions for a while also. It sucks when you simply do not feel pretty enough with your natural self, so if she is trying to fix her hair and in the meantime, wear extensions I understand. For those saying extensions do damage hair, yes. They certainly can, but keratin tip extensions are the best safest option. You look gorgeous girl!
