Muhammad Ali was unable to box for 4 years and stripped of the world heavyweight title because he stood against the vietnam war. That's only one example, not including Jack Johnson being the first black man allowed to compete for the world heavyweight championship and going on to win it in 1908, when before that they could only compete for the 'colored world heavyweight championship'. There are a whole other heap of examples I could give. The truth is boxing has always been intertwined with politics.

There a a large cohort of people out there eg Fury rimmers who will predict with absolute confidence that Fury will beat Usyk no sweat & then in the same breath, say he doesn’t need to fight him because the result is a foregone conclusion. And that Fury is within his right to avoid fighting Usyk. It’s laughable if I’m honest. Its akin to a Liverpool supporter saying they don’t need to play Man City in the European cup final because they will definitely beat them.
