I went to Forest Hill Collegiate for 1 year before I decided I'd had enough of school. Lol. Lived right across the street on Mayfair Ave. Also went to Forest Hill Junior High the year before. Another forgettable year. Hated both schools.

I used to live in this area. It has a mix of very high and I would say modest income families. Strangely when I lived here my employer also did too. My employer's family was part of a clothing retail empire in Canada. That is how wealthy you need to be to live in that area. Keep up the good videos Johnny!

Used to be a exclusive area for well over 6 decades till the recent zoning change for more medium density developments.

My Nana and Papa's house (they built it 50+ years ago), on Warren Rd, was at the time, across the street from the founder of Canadian Tire. A different time.

Finally the Forest Hill walk that you mentioned a while ago, next should be Kingsway :) Really nice area for sure however I still prefer the European houses (well, not surprising since I'm European and this is the familiar to me). Most house designs here and in GTA general are quite spooky to me, even that $17.8 million. I like simple, clean design like the one at 23:12 for example.

I live just off Dunvegan Road on the Isle of Skye. Not quite so many millionaire's mansions - but at the far end is a real castle, Dunvegan Castle, complete with its own Clan Chief - a little more 'elite' than those - though you Can tour the place at a price.. Prince, now King Charles was there a few months ago. Probably got in free..

Looking forward to this! You may walk by my Grandparent's house 😁

You walked Warren Rd. They are on Warren Rd. I loved seeing the neighbourhood so much! They had their house built 50+ years ago and raised their kids there (my Mom). Thank you for this!

Interesting, that’s my childhood neighbourhood riding bikes through there…. I grew up just west of there in a working class neighbourhood with my single mother. Our tiny starter house would now be worth 1.5 million no doubt, certainly not a starter house anymore. Unfortunately, many of the forest hill residents are buying those small homes demolishing them and building mansions. Good if you bought property early and want to get out, but unfortunately that opportunity for average folk to live a normal life in the city, no longer exists anymore…

After watching dozens of Johnny's videos, especially those focused on high priced neighborhoods, I have a number of reflections: For starters, Forest Hills seems far noisier than previous upscale neighborhood (I'm American, no u in neighbor). Wonder if it is perceptual rather than actual. Second thought I had since this is exclusive territory, what is it like when road crews come along to renovate the pavement? I have tons of experience with that. Third thing is about all the videos. Pearson International is NW of the city, right? But it has to be in the top 2 or 3 busiest Canadian airports. I don't remember a single time when plane noise was in the background. For me, planes start at 4am and continue to maybe 11 or midnight. Could be the flight paths of all the planes just never is over any place Johnny walks. For such a big city, no plane noise is an irregularity.

Actually, I should have said Dunvegan is close by us, not around the corner. There are much nicer looking areas than Forest Hill, like close to the Casa Loma and some areas of Castle Frank🎉

Dunvegan rd is just around the corner from us. The smaller roads have the prettiest and older houses on them. We're not into modern builds! Ruins the heritage look of what Toronto was. My opinion, of course.
@normamimosa5991 Жыл бұрын
Johnny, a 15-minute neighborhood would destroy this beautiful neighborhood. If you lived in this area, you wouldn't be taking public transit, and you would drive to the grocery store. If you had the money, somewhere like Fifth Avenue would be a better choice for you. In Toronto, maybe the Yorkville area.
